Early Access Review
If you like airplanes and would like to know more about them, then this is a game to look into. You start out as a entry level mechanic and work your way up the ranks and improving your skills. You start out on a de Havilland Tiger Moth and get to work on the ♥♥♥♥♥ III, four cylinder air cooled engine. The tutorials are basic and teach you what you need to get through the missions, but they don't teach you the fine details of each engine. Make sure you know what a head gasket is and where to find it.

Next, you move on to a Spitfire which has the legendary Rolls Royce Merlin, a twelve cylinder liquid cooled engine. Its a lot more airplane than the Tiger Moth in every way. There are a lot more tasks associated with this aircraft as well. I got tired of reloading the wing mounted machine guns on nearly every mission - so many little doors. The next aircraft is the Mosquito, where it has two Rolls Royce Merlin engines. The learning curve isn't very steep. After that, you work on a Hawker Hurricane. Again, same engine as the Spitfire and the Mosquito.

The most recent update introduced the Bristol Blenheim, which has two Mercury XV, nine cylinder air cooled radial engines. And believe me, you will get to know the insides of this engine more than one might want to. Nearly every mission on this aircraft had one or both engines taken apart almost completely. It was like one engine would have a problem, and the next mission the other had a problem. I started thinking; is the Mercury XV engine garbage? Is the pilot incompetent and doesn't know how to operate the engines properly? Or is it a combination of both?

At any rate, I do find this game entertaining, and have learned some things about all the aircraft as well. One last tip, when you start the game you have a choice of starting your work on the airfield (default) or in the hangar. If you want to stay dry, choose the hangar.
