Just like Arkham Asylum, this one is also a really good game but I don't think it's better.

The first game was this very well paced metroidvania, while City slaps an open world on the formula without really utilizing it well. Between the fun combat and stealth sections, you have so much running around from point A to B and mindless busywork that it really kills the pace. Having the enemies scattered about also exposes the holes in the AI. The enemy types and overall set pieces also weren't as strong in my opinion.

Overall I enjoyed my time with Batman: Arkham City but I really don't get why people call this the better game. By the time I was done with the campaign and the dlc, I was so sick of the game. After a break, I will do the challenges but no chance in hell will I ever collect all the Riddler Trophies. They went way too overboard with them.

Have last played the game last year around the time it came out. I just want to give this game a shout-out. Reddit title and some dated jokes aside, this is a great 3D platformer that is doing something new and innovative with the genre while keeps being very fun.

Felt like leaving a review because it baffles me how overlooked this game is but when they make the hundreth Balatro clone, it gets ten times the engagement.

Closer to the TF2 I fell in love with

The mod is new and haven't played that much so no idea how the actual unlocks and weapon stats affect things but oh buddy, I had a blast playing this.
Harkens back to the good old days when games had soul and before multiplayer gaming became this zoomer globo ♥♥♥♥ competitive slop with meaningless microtransactions. Really makes you appreciate the original world and artstyle Valve wanted to create back in the day. Not to mention the old server rules are back and the playerbase are cool chuds.

Not a complete replacer of vanilla TF2 but I will be playing this a lot in the future as long as there are active servers I tell you that.

As a fan of beat-em ups, I do think Streets of Rage 4 is the best there is. The combat was just crack cocaine addictive fun. While I still have a long way to go but so far I would confidently say that the devs managed to make another beat-em up that is also crack cocaine addictive fun and while also making a game that is mechanically different from SoR4.

I do have a few gripes tho...

Due to the random nature of the game, some spawns can feel kinda frustrating and unfair. Also I think the bosses are the gameplay's weakest point. The bosses don't feel like traditional beat-em up bosses. Whenever they come up, the game kinda becomes this modern Sekiro type 'parry slop' which is not that fun and by now i'm very sick of seeing in games.

And my last gripe with the game has nothing to do with the gameplay. It's more the game's world itself and how it is infested with DEI. We are in a European styled medieval fantasy world and yet the deity of the world is this Wukanda Black Kween n' ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Also every time I respawn, I have to look at her pregnant belly. Just why? The leaders of the camps you visit are also always strong independent women. Sometimes women of color. Also my character always yapps about how he honors the 'Blessed Mother's Knowledge'. Now there is nothing wrong with having badass female characters in games nor minorities but there is a point where it is hard not to notice how the devs made these decisions not out of creativity but for brownie points they get for pushing woke ideologies. Makes them look really disingenious not gonna lie. One of the playable characters is also a they/them and there might be more stuff like this in the game I haven't got to.

Now I might get clown awards and be called a toxic chud or something but these world building decisions truly take me out of the experience where I really only come for the really solid combat and ignore the lore altogether. They also announced an animated series of this. Yikes...

So anyway. Great game. Wish it wasn't pushing messages tho.

For Experienced Survival Horror Players Only!

Seriously, if you have not played the classic Resident Evil and Silent Hill games then I highly suggest you play those and put this game on the backburner. Maybe try some other indie games too like Signalis and/or Crow Country before also. Tormented Soul simply does not mess around! It comes down to the game being designed for hardcore players in mind but also to some not so great design choices which could also scare away those who are inexperienced.

Firstly, the enemies do hit hard and take a lot of punishment. As you play the game, you get used to them but they can feel daunting at first. Also the game has limited saves courtesy of og Resi games but unlike those games, you will not be given that many saves. Poor resource management is highly punished.

Second, the puzzles. Oh man, the puzzles... You will be presented with many puzzles and they can be quite obtuse. I've managed to solve many of them and it felt really satisfying but some made me bend the knee and look up a guide. Also, after the first segment, you will be thrown into quite a large area with many interconnected rooms. The implementation of the map is not the best to say the least. It does not show important locations you need to backtrack to later like in many other games of the genre nor your exact location, unexplored rooms etc., only the room you are in is highlighted. You are required to remember key locations that come up hours later, so it is also really easy to get lost, not really knowing where to go next.

In conclusion, having many survival horror games under my belt. Tormented Souls was a fun challenge. The atmosphere is on point, it is really scary at times. The story is quite good even if the voice acting is quite bad and the soundtrack is excellent. As I said in the beginning of this review, the game's difficulty and jank/poor design choices will put you off if you are not prepared but otherwise, it is a classic survival horror game that is well worth a playtrough.

Another promising Warioware clone.
The soundtrack and presentation are great. However, I do think the yapping goes on way too long in the cutscenes and it's not even all that funny.
Also it's not entirely clear at first what you need to do at the Boss.
These are my only complaints. Looking forward to this and Boom Buster as well since I'm a backer.

Skibidi denpa all up in this bihhh!

If you liked the game but hated the localization, please leave a negative review about it!
Also consider not buying the game if the localization work does not change for the full release!

Gotta raise awareness so the devs might actually listen to the criticism and fix their mess.

Good game! Very good game even, but holy hell! You people should really play the games that inspired it like Super Metroid and Castlevania: SotN before you shout Hollow Knight as a 10/10 masterpiece.

Can feel a bit like Resident Evil at home but it is still a very fun little clone for fans of the genre.

Mute House basically plays like any old RE game but has some unique features. For example, you can no longer just reload your weapons while pausing. Each shotgun shell has to be reloaded separately in real time and the pistol reload is more 'realistic' where you drop the whole magazine. In fact, you can't even pause the game while in the item menu, adding to the tension. Now the game isn't too hard first time around so these won't matter as much but you will definitely feel them in the unlockable and pretty fun harder mode, Fury House.

The Mansion is also pretty well designed. The developers managed to make an RE game without a map and it works. Some mental gymnastics are required when navigating which is nice and there isn't that much backtracking. Also, the fixed cameras are well done for the most part, you can never quite tell what's around the next corner. Adding to the scare factor. In fact, the game had one of the scariest sections I have experienced in a survival horror game in quite a while. I won't spoil it.

There are only a couple negatives. As I alluded to, the fixed cameras are mostly great but there are a few instances where they are more detrimental. There is a puzzle which is pretty good in concept but a should have been better communicated to the player on how to approach the solution (graveyard) but other than that, the puzzles are pretty alright.

So yeah, Mute House isn't as unique as other indie survival horror games from recent memory but if you are a fan of the classic Resident Evils and Silent Hills and want more, then it's a very solid pick.

Okay so... It's not bad. But something felt off and sure enough, I booted up Shredder's Revenge right after trying the demo and indeed the combat feels and looks so much worse. It's like Tribute games are evolving backwards.

Hitting dudes just feels way less impactful and the moves the characters have just feel kinda stiff and sluggish. It is hard to put into words but if you have played Tribute Games' previous game, Shredder's Revenge before, then I'm sure you'd get what I mean. Also there are no automatic grabs where you can pummel and throw foes like almost all beat'em ups since 1986's Renegade. You can just feel how much worse this genre is without this feature. The one improvement over TMNT is that you can finally break the super armor of the bosses. Even then, fighting the bosses will feel awful if you are playing as a character who can't dodge, only parry.

Seems like this game is going to be a more casual, shut your brain off experience with a much lower skill ceiling. Possibly also for Marvel fans who don't care for this type of game normally. I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about Marvel but I loved TMNT: Shredder's Revenge and love beat'em ups so I was looking forward to this to play at launch. Game is still going to be enjoyable to some extent but if I'll play this, it will probably be once it is sold for pennies on key sites.
