No "Changes compatible armament's skill to Blinkbolt" instant 0/10

The Balancers are broken if fought with the Marias Executioner greatsword, the healthbar won't go away upon defeat resulting in you having to leave/not get the win.

Other than that the new map plays like ass, brought back the worst DS3 boss, no Shadow of the Erdtree or Dark Souls weapons, and no returning Dark Souls enemies. Undertaker is cool and can pull off some fun stuff with the passive however Scholar just feels weak. Hoping for further expansions after this mess is cleaned up, however this does have me worried for the future of Nightreign...

While I bought this to support the team and do agree Dispatch itself is a phenomenal experience worth every penny, the Digital Deluxe edition leaves a lot to be desired.

The artbook is definitely the best addition with this package and being an extremely insightful peek into the development and design process for Dispatch. The Comics, which I imagine will be the key selling point for a lot of players feel unfortunately rushed.

The first four are harmless and if anything only unfortunately on a bit of the shorter end being split between two stories however all look, and more importantly read well, the artwork done in Pas de deux was especially well done. My issues arise more when it comes to the 3rd and especially 4th issues 'Get Up' and 'The Death of Mechaman'
Get Up is relatively harmless but honestly looks a bit ugly however more importantly begins the process of making Robbie (Robert’s Dad) a bit of an ass. In issue 4 Robbie needlessly provokes Shroud, and while the reaction obviously not warranted does lead to his death. However my problems with issue 4 aren’t with the story but rather how they align to what’s told to us (and more importantly seen in the game)
SPOILERS AHEAD
Shroud specifically mentions shooting Robert’s dad with three rounds of his own revolver, however in the comic he only shows up, peeks through the door saying "Robbie" and shoots him once before vanishing as Trackstar, the speedster slower than a bullet sits there cradling Robbie’s body instead of rushing him to a hospital or stopping Shroud. Additionally with the fight arising over Shroud’s vote to join the Brave Brigade being cancelled, the news article at the start of the game calling Shroud "former Brave Brigade member” with the fiery rubble doesn’t seem to match up. And worst of all Robert’s story of the first Mechaman, and his dad dying in the suit (mech) being a family tradition is completely just null and void if you take these as cannon. Idk just all feels too separate from what we got in the finished product of Dispatch, and admittedly I am kinda hoping for a retcon or retelling of events if Shroud is integral to season 2.

TLDR: Buy if you want the artbook or want to support the Devs but if you’re primarily interested in the comics it might be better saving your money.

Nightreign is a 10/10…In concept.
While insanely fun for the first 10-50 hours, it doesn’t take long to see the game lacking many key rougelike elements, or areas of the game that frankly just make the experience feel underbaked after a while.

The map remains relatively unchanged, despite the locations of camps and smaller locations (which also feel limited in their variation) shuffling, it doesn’t do much to change up the feel of the matches after a while. Chunked off sections of the map acting as a lesser/more common shifting-earth would easily remedy this issue.

Additionally the Dark Souls content is limited (in some regards). The bosses you’ll find are unfortunately fairly limited, and the only unique bosses you’ll find are the main nightlords. While having a huge roster of interesting bosses to bring back and touch up it’s a shame each game really only got two reps all while Elden Ring pretty much got the worst of it’s boss roster so many bosses people would not be upset to see again.

With all the SOTE dlc weapons missing, no Elden Ring callback skins (sh1tty skin selection in general tbh) and no returning Dark Souls weapons or regular enemies it leaves me only hoping the promised DLC’s for this game expands on some of these areas.

TLDR: Give us a Curved Greatsword specialist Character (And the Gravelord Sword back) 🙏

Kinda hurts giving this negative review after following both Rocksteady and the development of this game for so long, however the skeleton crew working on the game seemingly didn’t even try to salvage the solid framework here.

The initial story while full of many plot contrivances has good writing behind it, the League especially is extremely well done here and banter behind the ss themselves does seem to hit, but frankly that’s not enough to make up for the repetitive nature of the game, boring missions, pissing on The Flash, micro transactions/battlepass (full priced game btw), and reused boss fights, hell Braniac doesn’t even have an original moveset…

Anywho I hope the solid aspects are kept, would love to see more of this Justice League now that it’s revealed they’re all clones and the name of the game isn’t exactly accurate. Gambling, drugs, beer, and suicide? Backshot Roulette really does have it all!

Gotta love receiving a game for free only to end up paying for it anyways to gift to somebody who only used it once to retroactively mock you :)
Anywho on topic, game kinda mid ngl. Lacks substantial singleplayer content, alcohol, seemingly much variety, or too much imagination with enemy variety with most just being some sort of hostile creature that attacks whenever you cross it's sight. Woulda been cool to see some post mortem elements, other than a simple chatroom with other dead players, since I find waitrooms, even if actively spectating another player do tend to be a bit boring, especially with the downtime between rounds already. I will say the recording recovery aspect and early atmospheric elements are handled great but things get tired quick...
