⭐ Steam Review: The End of History

Playtime: Multiple weeks of Lunch Break episodes

The End of History really surprised me in the best way. I went in expecting a small indie sandbox, and instead found a deep, Kenshi-style world full of personality, discovery, and meaningful choices. The early hours hooked me immediately. Exploring the world, meeting characters, taking odd jobs, and slowly carving out your story is where this game shines.

The atmosphere is fantastic. The hand-crafted world feels lived-in, the pacing encourages curiosity, and the freedom to approach situations in your own way kept me coming back day after day. I ended up getting several weeks of Lunch Break episodes out of the playthrough because I genuinely wanted to see what would happen next.

That said, the game isn’t perfect. Combat is the weakest part right now, a bit janky and stiff compared to the rest of the experience. I’d honestly love to see autobattling become the default or at least tuned up. Some progression systems also feel a little rough, but none of it stopped me from enjoying the overall journey.

One thing I do wish is that the game had launched at an Early Access price point. While I appreciate the ambition behind the project, it feels more like an evolving Early Access title than a full $30 release. In my opinion, $15 to $20 would have been a more fitting entry price at this stage, especially while key systems are still being refined.

What’s here already is a strong foundation, with tons of potential as the developers keep updating. If you’re someone who enjoys sandbox RPGs with storytelling freedom, Kenshi, Mount & Blade, project-driven worlds, this is absolutely worth playing.

Verdict:
A unique, immersive sandbox that kept my attention for weeks. Imperfect, but absolutely worth your time if you love open-ended RPGs with personality.

Cloudheim really impressed me right away with its beautiful art style and smooth, fast-paced combat. Jumping between different islands and exploring each new area felt fun, and the early tutorial does a great job getting you into the flow. Once things open up, there’s a nice sense of wonder as you start finding puzzles, chests, and little secrets tucked into each biome. Visually and atmospherically, the game nails that cozy-but-adventurous vibe, and I can see why a lot of players are enjoying those aspects.

That said, the progression system is the biggest issue for me right now. Your character is tied to the host’s save, which really limits co-op and makes it tough if you want to bounce between friends or continue alone. Combat and movement also feel a bit too floaty at times, and customization is pretty limited, so some of those systems still need refinement. There’s definitely a solid base here with tons of potential, but at this stage of early access it feels like a game that could go either way depending on how future updates land.

Space Chef serves up a charming blend of genres in a delightful indie recipe that’s both quirky and satisfying. If you grill it just right and flip on time, you might even earn yourself five stars.

Just put a few hours into The Outer Worlds 2 and wow this is impressive. Right from the start the character creator and background builder grabbed me, and what really stands out is how the game lets you shape your story from the first choice you make. The writing, the perk system, the sense of “you matter” in every scene all deliver big.

If you’re into RPGs and looking for one that gives you depth without sacrificing fun, this is it. Hit the thumbs up if you’re enjoying it too, and check out my deep dive into the character creator here:

Worth Playing Despite Its Rough Edges

This one's hard to review, but it's genuinely charming in that special indie way. Yes, it's janky. Yes, the UI and controls are non-standard. Yes, the systems are confusing and it's grindy. But here's the thing, underneath all that, there's real depth and some genuinely fun mechanics.

What this small team has accomplished is impressive, and you can feel the love they've put into the characters. The charm is real.
Fair warning: I found it pretty confusing at first, so I made a tips and tricks video to help others get started. Check it out here: https://youtu.be/cfge9qHqs-4

Verdict: If you can look past the rough edges and appreciate what indie devs can create with limited resources, give Plains of Pain a shot.

Battlefield 6 Review
It feels so good to have a real Battlefield back! Explosions that shake the ground, tanks that rumble like thunder, and those chaotic “only-in-Battlefield” moments where your squad’s wild plan actually works (or hilariously doesn’t).

This is what we’ve been waiting for, that mix of tactical teamwork, cinematic destruction, and pure adrenaline. Gunplay feels crisp, vehicles hit hard, and the map design finally rewards smart players and reckless heroes alike.

If you’ve missed classic Battlefield energy, Battlefield 6 delivers.

👍 Smash that thumbs-up if you’re glad Battlefield is back and better than ever!

Not Recommended – I can see why some people might enjoy this, but it just wasn’t for me. The game feels cheap, and while the $10 price tag makes it accessible, I wasn’t having fun and don’t feel motivated to put in the time it might take to see its value.

Here’s my first 15 minutes of gameplay if you want to see it in action:

A charming indie title that shows a lot of heart, even if the controls and menus can be a little frustrating at times. Sand: Superfluous Game feels different in a good way, and if you don’t mind some UI quirks and enjoy a real challenge, it’s definitely worth checking out.
