Performance is too bad for me to recommend this. My PC is about 3 years old (i9 12900K, RTX 4080 Super, 32GB of RAM and running Borderlands 4 on a PCI4 SSD), but still top of the line and has no issues with any other game.

Even with some of the settings turned down, DLSS enabled (on balanced) and frame generation, there are still instances where I'm getting sub 40FPS. If I was playing native 4K, I wouldn't be surprised if I struggled to hit 15fps!

The game is ridiculously demanding for the quality of graphics etc - maybe Gearbox will be able to optimise it in time but right now it's not something I can recommend, given the £59.99 price!

With regards to the game itself it's Borderlands, you know what to expect at this point. I've yet to finish the game, but honestly the story and characters is somehow worse than Borderlands 3, there are graphical glitches (try using Amon's action skill and watch as the camera freaks out) and obvious bugs which were somehow not picked up before launch. The open world is detrimental and the more linear levels of previous titles were much better.

Also, whilst we're at it, can we please do something already about how everyone is always gushing over your character being a vault hunter - it's been an annoyance pretty much since the series started, anyone can be a vault hunter (you want to open a vault, congrats you're a vault hunter, even if you've never left Sanctuary), it doesn't mean anything! If your character had actually opened a vault and made comments to this effect, then it'd be much less annoying.

Not as good as Fire Emblem, but definetly worth purchasing if you're a fan of the series. It's much better than the likes of Final Fantasy Tactics, as all your characters are unique as opposed to randomly generated.

Just a shame we'll probably not get a sequel.

It's Chrono Trigger, there's a reason it's really highly rated, even if this isn't the best port.

It's a fantastic RPG (even though it's 30 years old), which still has the best time travel in video games.

Fun if you're a fan of monster "hunting" games and enjoyed the anime as a kid, but it's incredibly grindy and doesn't really have much depth.

Performance is too poor for me to recommend this (hardly a surprise, given it's Unreal Engine - why did Square Enix have to kill off their fantastic Luminous Engine?).

I'm running a Intel Core i9 12900K, 32GB RAM, RTX 4080 Super (latest drivers) and a Samsung 980 Pro running on a PCI4 connection, yet it's still a struggle to run the game at a stable 60FPS on Medium settings at 4K. Texture pop in is noticeable and the quality isn't great to begin with.

The game really needs optimising or at least, frame generation. Using resolution scaling to increase FPS is an option, but the quality of the graphics notably drops on a very regular basis.

I'm surprised that this is sitting at 97% positive reviews (at this moment in time).

I 100%'d the original version of Sonic Generations nearly 15 years ago (time flies), but this is not worth paying £45.

The Shadow Generations element is fun, if short even to 100% complete (took me about 12 hours, ~4 hours of which was exploring the open world hub trying to find all the collectibles).

The Sonic Generations bit is awful - if it wasn't for the fact that they've added 3 Chaos to each stage to find, I'd have said that they'd lost the source code and just provided the exact same executable. It's still locked to 60FPS (unlike Shadow Generations, which goes all the way up to 120FPS), the graphics don't appear to have been upgraded at all and they've actually gone out of their way to remove some of the achievements from the original game. I've played 2 and a bit hours of Sonic Generations, being near the final boss and I can't be bothered to carry on.

I'd wait until this is 66% off - it's not worth more than £15.

It's been years since I played God of War on the PS4, but this is even better than I remember God of War being.

I felt the story was fantastic and the character development was top notch; however the game is a paradox - I feel like it should have been split into two titles due to the length yet also feel that it could have used more development. There's a great deal of content from Nordic mythology that I feel should have also been included with more time.

It's a shame how little time is spent with Thor as Kratos - it's a shame that they didn't have this game focus on Thor and Odin was mostly saved for the third game.
The game needed more focus on Jörmungandr, especially his role in Ragnarok.
Hel should have been involved, along with more involvement from Hræsvelgr.
Surtur needed a bigger role too, although his character was great in the game.
Ymir should have been more than just a footnote, briefly mentioned as being where Odin's study is.
Sif needed a bigger role too, as did Fenric.
I'm hoping we find out what happened to Tyr, if he was truly dead or if he is elsewhere.
Gungnir needed more mentioning too; we didn't get to see that much of Odin's magic.

Hemidall is such a ♥♥♥♥, I loved him. Odin was also great, I felt his focus on finding out what comes next for him was interesting, even Gods fear the unknown.

Overall would highly recommend, it looks great especially at 4K 120Hz.

Honestly if you've played previous Dragon Age games you'll be disappointed by this.

I'm only 10 hours through, but so far I've been introduced to so many characters with little depth I'm wondering why I should care about any of them (it's far too early to be going into their tragic backstories, I can barely remember their name, why do I give a ♥♥♥♥ if you couldn't save your family member in the past). Most of the dialogue is filler and dialogue between your group is annoyingly positive all the time, it's like they have no personality other than to say how great you are every so often. Give me memorable companions like Morrigan (who has shown up but so far, is barely recognisable), Alistair and Oghren.

Combat consists of basically button mashing, it's far from Dragon Age 2 let alone the tactical gameplay from Dragon Age: Origins.

It seems very disconnected from the lore of previous games, with no options when starting the game to load up a previous title's save or select from a list of options.

Spells and perks in previous games where much more meaningful, here they just make you level up all the time but as a result, almost everything you unlock is incredibly generic (+x% to y; how game changing) and you're limited to just three abilities at a time.

etc

I wouldn't recommend this at the current price, if you could get it for ~50% off it'll probably be worth it but only if you basically consider it a different franchise with the Dragon Age name.

It really does feel like the game doesn't know what it is meant to be, who it is targeted at, what genre it wants to be and so it lacks an identity, disillusions existing fans of the franchise whilst also not being particularly appealing to new players.

They should have either done a whole reboot or marketed this as a Dragon Age spinoff; they don't seem to want to associate it with Dragon Age's roots as an RPG, they might have well gone full action adventure game.

Performance is good and the HDR implementation is gorgeous; definitely one of the best I've experienced on PC.

I'm going to try and slog it out and get my money's worth; at least it's less of a disappointment than Starfield. I'd say this is a 7/10 game, which is reflected in the current Steam review score!

This has a very fun gameplay loop - would definetly recommend for the price - each game is quick and you quickly progress.

Early Access Review
Still in Early Access, but from the 16 hours I've played so far, it's just as fun as Factorio & Dyson Sphere Program.

Voxels means performance is better, although I'm still far away from the end game and so things may change!
