I played this game for 14 hours today without realizing that much time passed, and have blisters on my fingers :,)
I actively had to force myself to take a break. 22/10 would buy again

Most refreshing game of the year for SURE.

After a million remasters/ remakes, A handful of games that are super similar, and tons of cash grabs from triple A companies; this game is easily the best game ive had the pleasure of playing in some time.

I'm a huge RPG fan, so this game was going to be a win no matter what for me, but even if youre not a fan on the genre you should check it out for sure!

if you have friends, and if they have the collective brain power of a rock, this game will keep you occupied for hours on end. 22/10

this game is pretty gas if you enjoy wanting to eat dirt and enjoy bad netcode!

Actually im back to revise this after putting 40 more hours into the game and season 2 released.
Its not even lowkey bad anymore. Its highkey bad.

this is not only such a beautiful game, but the story is amazing. Legit the first time in years that a game has given me goosebumps or had me really hype while playing.

To sum up the review im about to post: I think If you come into this game accepting it for what it is and not comparing it to other Atlus games, It's not a bad game. I'd give it a solid 6.5/10.
A good majority of the criticisms about this game will probably be centered around it not being enough like Persona or SMT; but as its own stand alone title it's not bad..
some of the issues I have with this game are as follows;
1.Kinda pay to win. - First of all... Day 1 DLC??? I bought DLC with the game and I found out that as a level 15 I could summon a level 90 demon. On a normal occasion when doing fusions, it's impossible to get a demon higher than your level. I understand that you could easily just NOT summon them, but I know a lot of people wont really enjoy the game for what it is because they'll cheese it as much as possible. I also feel like this game will lose some replay value due to this as well.
2.Fight mechanics- There is not really a system to hold people accountable for any combat whatsoever. You can literally hit most enemies, knock them down and run away. In fights It never seems beneficial to be conservative with your MP because you can always go back to the safehouse as much as you want without the story progressing to rest.
3.Current state of game- Without making immediate adjustments to the game it feels like an Atlus game I would have played 10 years ago. After making some camera adjustments, It felt a little better, but it just doesnt feel up to par with most of the other current 60$ games to be released. I would 100% buy this game for 40$; but buying it for 60$ doesnt feel quite right.
4.Graphics??? - 95% of this game is really graphically amazing. I think the stylistic choices made for this game carry it quite a bit. The only issue I have with how the game looks is just that some of the textures look like this game was made for the switch, and not for a new console with improved graphics.
5.Story- I dont feel like there's a huuuuge amount of development in this game. Its probably better than SMT for sure but not persona if you /had/ to compare it to others. It just feels like you know where every avenue of the story is going :(

ALL OF THIS BEING SAID; No. I dont dislike this game. I think this is worth a buy if it were 40$. It feels like a game made by the B team for sure, but I dont regret my purchase.

I've been playing this game since it was on the dreamcast. I've seen this game get better and worse through the years, and I can say for sure that this is one of the better ones. The playstyle mimics that of the earlier games, and the graphics look as good as most games today. For this being a reboot of sorts, it still has elements that are new and exciting to play through. My ONLY complaint about this game is that for some reason it "runs like a ransomware program" and bit defender clean sweeped all of my data causing me to have to start all over again.

Great quality 12/10 would buy again <3
