This game said it was free to play… they lied. It costs friendships. You think you’re just dropping in with your boys? Nah. You’re dropping into emotional bankruptcy. One second you’re all laughing, the next second Chad ‘accidentally’ forgets to cover your flank and your million-dollar kit is gone. Now you’re broke AND you hate Chad.

This isn’t a shooter, it’s a social experiment. Arena Breakout Infinite doesn’t just test your aim, it tests your ability to forgive betrayal, cope with poverty, and resist the urge to uninstall Discord. GG devs, you made the first truly pay-to-friendship game.

Do not install this game. There's a reason why its free. If you read the User Agreement see what they are getting out of the exchange, but Ill just tell you here.
The key issue is that the game's privacy policy explicitly states it uses tracking technologies for targeted advertising and shares user data with third-party advertising partners for this purpose. UA (Universal Acceptance) standards, particularly as they relate to privacy and data collection, often emphasize user control, data minimization, and protection against unauthorized tracking for purposes like targeted advertising. The policy clearly outlines practices that would violate these principles, such as:

Sharing data for targeted advertising: The policy directly states, "We may share your information with third-party adverting partners’ tracking tools... for the purposes of delivering targeted advertising to you." This practice is a major red flag for any privacy-conscious standard like UA.

Third-party data collection: The policy lists several third-party companies (e.g., Unity Ads, Google, Facebook) that "may use automatic information collection technologies to collect information about you or your device" for targeted advertising. This kind of extensive, third-party tracking is not in line with strict privacy standards.

Lack of clear opt-in consent: While the policy mentions opting out, it doesn't clearly state that users have to give explicit, affirmative consent before their data is collected and used for these purposes, which is a key component of modern privacy laws and standards.

Broad data collection: The policy describes collecting a wide range of personal and technical data, including player IDs, device identifiers, and game usage data, which is then used for advertising. A privacy-forward approach would aim for data minimization, collecting only what's necessary for the game's core function.

The provided privacy policy is more in line with standard, ad-supported business models, not a more restrictive privacy standard.

After wasting almost $4,500 in this game, I decided to quit and take a break for a while. Is this a bad game? Certainly not. But a mixed cash grab and gacha game with gl-bait.
I love reading visual novels, and the first four chapters of the story are quite decent. Then, suddenly, after being trapped by the amazing story of the first four chapters. Reverse 1999 showed its true form. A gacha game with decent arts, voice actings, and characters designs as its pros. But nothing more. The time-limited event is quite boring and left unfinished most of the time. You have to log in every day, grid(watch relay) countless time to earn your rewards. The packs in-store can only be purchased with real money or top-up currency. Otherwise, you have to log in and wait for its return, then buy it with real money lol.
Take this collab as an example, they introduce some new characters and new ways to play the game, also give you a chance to earn the character you like through 100 pulls, etc. Pity pulls imo, considering the devs already know how many players will suffer from the pull rate.
They also made some changes to old characters during this update as well, but after a few days, the new changes, in order to help old characters to catch up with the ridiculous damage requirements in the new events, are considered as bugs and fixed without any inform in advance(Vila). And after receiving a large number of complaints from the community, they decided to remain silent and do NOTHING about it. So players who got Vila in full and bought the new skin at the very first day have to surrfer from it. Wow, truly amazing.
So I personally recommend thinking twice before playing or spending real money on this game. Yes, it has its pros. But in the end, it's still a gacha game, developed by a CN company that treats its players as nothing but ATMs. And to think that their Twitter account is called 'reverse 1999_GL', lmao.

Trying to make me purchase skins i paid for already? Thousand+ Dollar Smite account basically useless. Need blue gems for old skins? 500 skins total i get slapped with a fee to buy rewashed skins. Idk man i loved Smite but adding a number 2 and trying to double charge me is beyond aggravating. I would gladly pay for new skins but not old skins i already owned.

It's... average. Painfully so. It's like if the person behind Cookie Clicker did more when it doesn't need to have more.

It also has AI art, something that needs to be disclosed yet the creators did not do that.

NOTE: If you plan on playing this, please go to 'Guides' and follow the one to leave 'Beginner mode'. For some reason, there's a bug in beginner mode which makes it full PvP and drop items on death. The actual game is NOT LIKE THAT, and is a lot more forgiving.

This game is really, really good. I was a little hesitant as it has/had 'mixed' reviews but I gave it a go and immediately fell in love. It's very simple, but very deep. I'm at 40 hours (ish) at time of writing and feel like I've barely scratched the surface of the game.

If you like RotMG, Vampire Survivors or similar, this is absolutely for you. The graphics are super cute, the mechanics are really fun and the gameplay is really, really solid.

500+ hour playtester for 2 years,

The gameplay is fun. Skating around really does feel great, the new animations are really nice and smooth, there's a decent selection of options to really fine-tune your experience how you want, etc. Everything surrounding the gameplay is a positive.
If you liked the old games or skateboarding in general, you should try this game.
The problem is basically everything else.

-People have commented on the artstyle being unappealing for over a year. I do not want to buy clothes for these ugly Sims Mobile looking people.
-The replay editor barely works, stuttering and lacking even basic features like keyframes. This is something that Skate has understood the importance of since 2007. It is unbelievable to launch without this.
-Many spots in the city are strangely obstructed. Ledges blocked by vending machines, benches blocked by trashcans. In Skate 3, you could move these items out of the way. Now you can only add more clutter. This means some spots are simply bad and cannot be improved by the player.
-Because its a live service treadmill, you will play the same missions dozens if not hundreds of times eventually. Could they add more? Sure, and they probably will, but I've been doing some of these missions for years now and expect they won't be going anywhere.
-There are no communication features. This makes collaboration when building spots basically impossible. I guess that's why they stopped calling them "Collabo Zones".
-There are tricks missing that were in Skate 3 (darkcatches, fingerflips) that will come eventually, but it's still unfortunate.
-The tone of all writing is unpleasant. I know people argue back and forth about "what is skate culture" and "who gets to decide what it is and isn't" but I think we can at least agree that $7 neon pink clogs and introductory missions from a city council member are not leaning in the right direction.

The game also features no pro skaters... except it does. This one is mind-bendingly weird to me.
The fictional characters that talk to you during Tours are all real life pro skaters. Shingo is voiced by Sean Malto, Slappy is David Gravette, and Izzy is Breanna Geering. So why not have them play themselves? Why get these non-professional voice actors to play fictional people? Now we have weird performances and not even the benefit of seeing the person in game. Just bizarre.

Despite being always online multiplayer, the game is extremely lonely. Coop missions will never highlight your group in replays so it feels like doing a solo mission next to someone doing their solo mission. There is a single competitive mode, Throwdowns, that are just a timed score attack in a circle. You cannot play S.K.A.T.E. in this game titled "Skate." You cannot play spot battle. You cannot deathrace (not that the map could accommodate it anyway, there are no hills and you can cross it end to end in about 2 minutes). The lack of communication makes this even more noticeable. I can't even fake a game of S.K.A.T.E. without doing it in an external app with someone I know.

For the price of free, there's definitely fun to be had here. Just know its a mixed bag. It almost makes me sadder because if the game was bad, I could just write it all off and move on. But I really like it. So I will suffer for my love.
