Left trackpad not functioning properly

My left trackpad will not scroll properly in any browser or game, it seems to reverse sides at random (in other words, when i scroll my thumb top to bottom of the trackpad, it will start scrolling down, then suddenly and randomly swap to scrolling upward.) I have tried to be very careful to ensure my thumb is not reversing directions but it just seems the trackpad is not recognizing my thumb movements properly.

The only solution I have found thus far is to actually press with enough force to actually click and scroll very slowly - but even then I find it reversing directions on me! Does anyone else have this issue or do I have a defective unit?

If I do have a defective unit how do I go about getting a replacement? (*I'm wishing I had ordered mine from Amazon right now...*)

If you are using a Link it could be due to a huge input lag. Also try wired to see if that make a difference.

I think I figured it out - It appears that the right half of that trackpad and left half function differently. I was under the impression that you were supposed to swipe your thumb down the middle of it, but it appears that you have to pick a side (right or left) and then swipe top to bottom or vice versa. Interesting indeed.
