Multiple Steam Dongles
I just got my Steam Machine today, which obviously comes with a Steam Controller. I also have a Steam Controller on order that I plan on using with my PC.

I noticed there is no "sync" routine other than turning on the controller. How am I going to stop my PC one and Steam Machine controller from interacting with each other?

The controller is bound to a single dongle. It works in the same way as lierally any other wireless controller does to prevent interference with multiple machines.

It's only paired to one device at a time, when you order a Steam Machine they are already paired with the device but to pair it you need to open bigpicture go to settings, add controller, then it will ask that you press X+Home and it gets paired.

Pressing A+steam will differentiate between the different pairings...
The controller is made to pair with multiple dongles, and select one of them using A+steam.
With a link and a dongle it works. I have 2 dongles now, I will see if it can also hold 3 pairings :-).
This really rocks, since all the other controllers need to be paired again and again.

One individual dongle can pair up to 4 Steam Controllers.

If you wish to manually sync a Steam Controller to a separate dongle, you can do this from the Add/Test settings option under Controller in Big Picture Mode.
