Hi everyone, been a couple of years since the last announcement.
I initially wanted to pass the torch to someone else but I don't have the time to find someone and verify they're trustworthy, so instead, I'd like to redirect everyone to join the OFFICIAL DISCORD. I am no longer able to help anybody with Pac3 due to moving onto other projects~

Hey folks, it's been awhile since we've had an announcement so I figured I'd rectify it.

I'm not going to take a whole lot of your time, just want to update everyone on the state of this group.

I originally made this group to help people learn PAC3 when I saw that the official Discord server was mostly a toxic memehell and not super helpful. Since then, the server has mostly improved but not too much in my personal opinion.

I personally have mostly moved on from PAC3 to VRChat. I don't even play Gmod a whole lot nowadays anyways, and when I am on Gmod, it's for sessions with friends.

I was going through my groups to see if I should leave/get rid of a few when I remembered this one. This is one of the biggest groups I've ever owned publicly, and I'm glad that folks got help for what little guides we had here. I would like to keep this group up and active for future users of PAC3 but I do not currently have the motivation or time to moderate this group.

So... I plan to open up applications for moderators, however, I do not currently really have a discussion thread for applications. As a result, I'll be locking the group until I can get that thread going. If you feel the need to leave, I won't hold it against you. I also can't guarantee when the apps thread will be open and ready, but I do plan to make an announcement when we're open.

Now, as some of you may have noticed... PAC 3 was recently removed from the workshop.

Apparently a steam bot flagged it for "sexual content" and PAC 3 has been banned. (Source[github.com])

If you click on that link, it'll also show that the Sit Anywhere script was also banned, for the same reason.

Now, we all know some people like to abuse PAC 3 and/or use it for NSFW/Inappropriate content, so it does kind of make sense for PAC 3 to get flagged. However, at the same time, Garry Newman himself approved of PAC 3.

And Sit Anywhere got flagged for sexual content too?

My personal guess is that either it's a glitch or someone really went out of their way to take these two things down.

As of right now, from what I understand, if your server uses PAC 3, I'd highly suggested that you get the GitHub version, as the workshop version could become unstable with its original source being removed.

I don't have any other news and this is all I know in regards to PAC 3 being removed.


If anybody has anything else they'd like to add on, or if they know of anything else, feel free to comment.

I got rid of the discord server because hardly anyone joined...and those who did join didn't say anything to me so I didn't know who they were and thus couldn't set the group up properly.

If there is interest shown towards having a discord server again, then I'll start one up. When/if this happens, then we will have an announcement as well as requirements and such.
