FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions About Bots (Read this before posting)
I will write the answers to FAQs here. Please read these before making a new thread.

Do you have a website?

Yes! http://ocu.tf

What are ranks?

= ocu = Ranks are a premium system that rewards our users with extra features for trading frequently with our bots, or for donating. Read this thread for more info.

How can I see my current rank?

Say "rank" to any bot.

I had xx Belt, now I'm white. What happened?

There are 2 ways to obtain ranks. (1) By paying a fee, (2) By making a certain amount of trades within a month. Ranks obtained via (1) last 30 days (or more, if you purchased more) from the date of purchase. Ranks obtained via (2) don't last 30 days, they last until the 1st day of next month instead. When your rank expires, it defaults to White belt (it resets).

How can I see the current bot-raffles?

Say "raffles" to any bot.

What are the rules / conditions for raffles?

Read this thread for more info.

Bots are being slow

Our bots are programmed to be very efficient and fast.

However, Steam itself is very slow from time to time, especially on the weekends. It causes our bots to be less responsive and slow. Sometimes Steam's servers go offline and Steam doesn't respond to our bots' requests. This causes our bots to act weird, and trades may fail.

Trades keep failing

If Steam is not responding to the bots, the bot may have trouble accessing its inventory. In the beginning of each trade, the bot will try to reload its inventory 3 times, and if all 3 tries fail, the bot will close the trade. It will also add you to the queue automatically, and give you the "Urgent" rank. This rank is above all other ranks, except Black belt rank for staff, to make sure bot trades you first and you don't lose your place in the queue. The bot will trade you 3 times this way. If all trades fail, it will move on to the next user.

On the other hand, sometimes trades will fail even before the bot can detect them. This is because Steam fails to load the trade. In this case, since bot has no idea about what's going on, it will assume you closed the trade and unfortunately move on to the next user.

xxxBot is Offline / not working

We sometimes take down some of our bots to test new updates. Sometimes they just crash and stay offline until their next restart. Please check back later.

HatBot-X sucks, HatBot-Y is so much better

Our bots use exactly the same code and run on the same server. But, they may connect to different Steam servers which affects their performance. Some bots are also busier than others, and it slows them down.

Bot says item is overstocked

Our bots have stock limits on every item (except metal). After all, we don't want our bots to have hundreds of the same item. Most hats / miscs / weapons are limited to 3. Unusual hats are limited to 1 (same hat + same effect).

Bot did not add the right item

Check your spelling. The bot will not be able to find the item if you type it wrong, or if you type half of a word. Punctuation marks are also important.

If multiple items are found, the bot will send you a list to choose from. If your item is not in the list, the bot may not have the item in stock, check its inventory.

If the bot adds an item right away, but it's not the item you're looking for, then the bot probably does not have the item you want, and adds the item next item that matches your message.
For example, let's say you want to buy an Ellis' Cap, and you type "buy ellis' cap". If the bot doesn't have an ellis' cap, but has an engineer's cap, it will add an engineer's cap, because it's also a "cap". Try using more descriptive names, i.e. try typing "buy ellis' " and see what happens.

Bot did not add the right amount of metal

99% of the time, this happens when the bot doesn't have enough change, or enough metal. Check the bot's inventory and see if it has enough metal. If it doesn't, check another bot, or try again later.

The bot told me "I'm trading you now" but it never traded me

You have probably experienced this yourself when trading with another user: after clicking "accept", it sometimes takes forever for the trade to finalize.

The same issue affects our bots too. What's going on is that Steam tells the bot the previous trade has finished, when in fact it's still not finished (and it's still loading). The bot then attempts to send a trade request to the next user, but since the previous trade is still finalizing, steam doesn't let it send another request. The bot is programmed to remove you from the queue as soon as it sends a trade request. Therefore, you lose your place in the queue.

Keep in mind that it's much less likely to happen when steam is fast.

People are cutting in line ahead of me

That's because people with higher ranks than you are joining the queue. Due to priority queuing, they go in front of you. Check out our ranks thread to purchase a higher rank. 99% of our players are White Belt, so paying as low as 1 scrap / month could reduce the waiting time a lot.

Queues take forever

Please try a different bot. If you're selling a hat, you can sell your hat to another HatBot, if the queue on the current bot is too long. If you're buying a hat, simply find another bot that has that hat, and trade with that one instead.

Remember, bots with higher numbers in their names are often less busy, for example, HatBot4 would generally be less busy than the HatBot.

Steam says your bot is a scammer. Is that true?

Absolutely not! Our bots do not scam users. The warning you get in the beginning of a trade is most probably the result of a false report.

Almost all of these reports are false reports; these users either (a) Don't know how to use the bot, and get frustrated (b) Don't like the prices of our bots and report them (c) The bot doesn't have the item they're looking for (and perhaps it was advertised on a website as if it did) (d) Our competitors report our bots in a hopeless attempt deal a blow to our reputation.

Sometimes, the bot runs out of metal, or adds the wrong item. Users also report the bot in this case

(a) I will not even explain this one. This is plain wrong.
(b) Our bots do not follow bp.tf prices exactly. Their pricing information is often written on their profiles. Not following bp.tf prices is not scamming. Use google to find out what scamming really is.
(c) Our bots' inventories change all the time. People buy and sell items, almost non-stop. Please check our other bots if a particular bot doesn't have the item you're looking for. This is a terrible reason to report the bot as a scammer.
(d) We don't even bother with these people. Let them be jealous.

Remember, ocu = is highly a trusted community among traders. We're here to help if something has gone wrong.
