Pushing to get some guides released before Christmas; sorry for the long lapse in time since my last guide came out... back in September. Two guides for sure by the end of the year, & then another two guides pretty shortly into January.

My Blackflag guide could be a little longer due to the Multiplayer Achievements, but I will get that done.

I will do a more "formal" update announcement catching up with all of you just before or on Christmas; I have a lot of epic guides planned for 2026! :wintersnowman2023:
Cynic 0055 Oct 19 @ 12:04pm
Thanks, nicolas_irl! Congrats on the 100%s too; the Metro games are awesome, & really fun 100%s. :MSparta:
nicolas_irl Oct 19 @ 11:00am
you are the sole reason i earned 100% on all metro games... Thank u so much ur the goat man
Division Oct 13 @ 11:55pm
I finished Saints Row 2 on the 11th this month, it is an excellent and fun game. I will get started with the third game which of course is the non-remastered one.
crucibl Oct 9 @ 9:44pm
That’s good to hear on RDR and I’m in the same boat. Just got RDR and RDR2 on sale for cheap but am not looking forward to the RDR2 multiplayer achievements and the hundreds upon hundreds of hours that it will require. Definitely need to knock them out sooner rather than later due to the nature of servers and such
Cynic 0055 Oct 9 @ 6:12pm
RDR absolutely for sure, & most likely sometime next year; I have been dying to replay it again. RDR2 is a bit of a different beast. I have shamefully never have played it yet, & I will definitely do a guide for it (especially if I do RDR I am sort of locked in to it). I really want to check it out... but the multiplayer Achievements are dettering me. I am getting better at following through with multiplayer Achievements though, so it is less of an issue.

In short, yes. RDR sooner than later, but I can't say on when RDR2 will get done.
crucibl Oct 9 @ 5:40pm
Hey Cynic, any plans for RDR or RDR2? I know they're some of the best, but also longest...
Division Oct 7 @ 12:04am
I finished Return to Castle Wolfenstein (the one with no achievements not the RealRtCW), it was an excellent game with the story and gameplay being engaging, the atmosphere is top-notch also.
crucibl Sep 19 @ 3:08pm
That all sounds good to me I'll be looking forward to it when it comes out. I didn't know you could open the game for random people to join and that would count, is the game still active enough for that to be effective? Seems like a pain to use comment sections 10 different times unfortunately but sacrifices must be made I suppose
Cynic 0055 Sep 19 @ 10:13am
Hey crucibl, I am basically finished the game/guide & just have the final few Coop Achievements left to do (including needing to play with 10 Players as well as in a party with all 4 Characters). I am running a second playthrough with one of my friends to earn a bunch of them, & then what I have done is just made my game open so rando's can join into the game too. So, slowly chipping away at the 10, & if I am lucky I can get two people playing as the other Characters.

For the guide, like most of the other games with online Achievements, the Comments Section will make it easier to link up with other players.

I am in the process of slowly editing the guide/making my Collectibles Maps, & probably will release it before I 100% it for myself since I am not consistent playing with my friend. But only if I am confident what I have written for the Coop parts makes sense. Which shouldn't be an issue since I have already beaten the game through to completion already solo.
crucibl Sep 19 @ 6:37am
Hey Cynic, any updates on the Dead Island guide? That's been on my back burner for a while due to the one achievement that requires 10 co-op partners. Do you have a plan to tackle that? haha
Division Sep 3 @ 3:23pm
Just only part 2, for that it's only 5 achievements so no biggie deal I run out of space on Part 1 for that.
Cynic 0055 Sep 3 @ 2:03pm
Your guide progress or Achievement progress is gone?
Division Sep 3 @ 1:57pm
I went back to check on my Resident Evil 1make guide progress and for some reason part 2 is gone, so not only were the after mansion progress and before Hunter progress are gone but I have to start a new game while following my part 1 section religiously once again on easy (yes the knife run will be saved for the last playthrough).

There is also an achievement for completing the game 2 times as Jill and 2 times as Chris so only that counts per completed game.
Cynic 0055 Aug 12 @ 2:09pm
I just have a tiny bit left to beat in the Lord of the Hunt DLC (already edited most of it yesterday), so I will be updating the guide either tonight or tomorrow. Really made me want to go on to play Shadow of War again, but that guide is good enough right now that I can't really justify the time investiture. Mostly just my very first 10 or so guides I did in 2020/2021 that need "fixing".

Hoping to start Blasphemous 2 later this week!
Zoutje Aug 12 @ 11:06am
Might be a good time to jump into Shadow Of Mordor once your remaster is done! Thanks for all your work.
Cynic 0055 Aug 9 @ 8:28pm
I will be done my Shadow of Mordor guide remaster in the next few days, & I will be starting up Blasphemous 2 right after (working on Elden Ring slowly in the background). I have beaten up to the final boss in Blasphemous 2 on an alt profile since I really wanted to play it, & from that experience it will be an interesting guide to write. A lot more open ended/free roam choices than the first game had regarding what you chose as your starting Weapon.

But I plan to give it the exact same treatment I did with the first game, Maps & all, so it should be a banger guide when I get it done. Never played the Mea Culpa DLC yet & I am really looking forward to the new Bosses it added.

Arkham Knight was my most asked for guide which I finally got done, & Blasphemous 2 is a close second. So I really want to have it finished this year!
Greg (real) Aug 9 @ 5:56pm
oh sick! excited for the Blasphemous 2 guide, the first game was amazing and i wanted to follow your guide for the game because every other that exists is just so hard to follow and all over the place. Good luck!
Cynic 0055 Aug 7 @ 1:19pm
Just currently re-beating Shadow of Mordor on an alt account & remastering my guide for it; I am already almost halfway done & shouldn't be too much longer. Once I have finished the guide remaster, I will be starting up working on Blasphemous 2! :blassaint:
Division Aug 3 @ 8:22pm
It is also probably the easiest permadeath run if you know what you are doing, difficulty is set to normal and you have enough bullet time to do so. Wolfenstein: The New Colossus' permadeath run looks intense to me.
Division Aug 3 @ 8:20pm
Yeah but I will end up using a video so I can at least know enemy positions and where painkillers are.
Cynic 0055 Aug 2 @ 4:51pm
Legendary, Division! I don't envy you grinding that perma-death Achievement. I have watched a couple videos of people playing through it & it looks insane! Lots of skill & enemy position memorization. You got it though!
Division Jul 29 @ 6:11am
I'm very close to finishing the 100% on Max Payne 3 after I grind up to Rank 50 with Arcade Score Attack and Multiplayer, just need to do New York Minute and the Hardcore part next. Hardcore is well a permadeath mode so if you die like at Chapter 10 you restart back to Chapter 1, luckily it's on normal mode and once you know enemy spawns and painkillers as well as weapons to use you can breeze through this mode.
Cynic 0055 Jul 25 @ 1:21pm
As always, I miscalculated the final work load needed to input my Arkham Knight guide into Steam; it took most of my mojo just finishing the edits on Part 2 yesterday. I am inputting the guide into Steam at this exact moment, but it will probably take me most of the day to get done. The guide should be out some time tonight!
Greg (real) Jul 25 @ 3:02am
Good luck with that achievement Cynic!
Division Jul 24 @ 8:41pm
Oh yeah that achievement haha yeah I saw how it plays out, I think you can mess up the combo and still earn points but yeah over 400x is too much.
Cynic 0055 Jul 24 @ 6:28pm
I am at 140 hours played so far... & all time from here on will be solely accumulated from trying to earn that Achievement.
Cynic 0055 Jul 24 @ 6:24pm
Nope I definitely did not haha I still have one last Achievement I need to earn. It won't effect my guide at all, as I know what needs to be done... but for me personally to earn it, it is a skill issue. I have to chip away/bang my head against it over this next while. But I don't need to hold up the guide because of it.

It is the Requiem For A Killer Achievement. You need to earn 1,050,000 Points in a Combat Challenge to spawn a secret boss to defeat; 1 million Points is absolutely absurd when you have done good if you earn 60K in a good challenge. On my best run I got to 950K & spoofed it right at the end, which made me so mad. I can do it, but I just need that lucky run.
Division Jul 24 @ 6:13pm
Hey Cynic, did you 100% Arkham Knight? If so, I still see 112/113.
Cynic 0055 Jul 23 @ 4:41pm
Editing the Arkham Knight today/tonight, & I am hoping to have it released after I am off work tomorrow. It will take me a bit to put into Steam, but it should be out sometime late tomorrow night! :batsilo:
Cynic 0055 Jul 23 @ 3:20pm
Oh man [Sharky], I am an OG lover of Indiana Jones (the original trilogy that is) & I am super stoked to eventually play the game. Jones is also voiced by Troy Baker who is my favourite voice actor too! Can't give you an eta on when I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my Requested Guide list; good chance it may be sooner than later...
[Sharky] Jul 23 @ 2:39pm
hey cinic thx for the guides and good vibes here. keep it up - recently played indiana jones its really awesome make a guide for it :-)
Division Jul 22 @ 11:31pm
And then there is time, just need time.
Division Jul 22 @ 10:21pm
Yeah I was able to 100% Yakuza 0 easily because of working on a guide but the biggest thing I need to chip away currently are easy games and probably work on finishing story at least on every games. I know this is obvious but do not buy 50 games per year at least unless they are easy to 100% games meaning short and not time consuming.
Cynic 0055 Jul 22 @ 9:30pm
The length of the 100% is also a factor. If it is a long multi-playthrough 100%, breaking it up with shorter 100% games in between playthroughs helps make it easier to return back to the longer game.
Cynic 0055 Jul 22 @ 9:29pm
I've definitely been there, man, across multiple consoles too haha. My guides are probably the biggest motivator for getting 100%s done, but that doesn't always work; I think I am sitting st around 12 or 15 unfinished 100%s/guides that I haven't gone back to in forever.

The big thing I can say, is trying to change up gameplay in games. If you end playing a lot of similar games back to back, you'll probably stop playing newer ones of the same type sooner adding to the backlog. You burn yourself out basically. Sometimes I can sit down & 100% a game without switching, but other times I like having 2 to 3 "active projects" so I can switch things up if I need to.
Cooking Crack Jul 22 @ 9:00pm
Hey cynic been having some trouble lately as I have a massive backlog of games i gotta 100% (totally my fault steam sales are my worst enemy) i know that they're all possible but i just can't commit to any one of them what's your advice with actually finishing games? instead of just jumping from game to game making no real progress
Cynic 0055 Jun 26 @ 4:51pm
At long last, now that I have a better PC, I have finally purchased Elden Ring haha. Do not ask me why it has taken me so long to do this... as I have no excuses; I am a major long time Fromsoftware fan & it is pretty shameful of me.

I have never played it before, & I plan to do my best to play it in my "off time" doing a blind run & not writing my guide for it until I have beaten it so I can properly enjoy the game spoiler free. Once that playthrough (or two) is out of the way, I will begin writing a guide for it. Unfortunately, since I have a lot of other stuff to work on & I need to do that blind run, I can't speculate on when I will start the guide or when it will be released. But I do plan on starting the guide sometime this winter most likely. :praisesun:
Division Jun 19 @ 4:04pm
Yeah Killing Floor 1 is safe to do a guide on it if you like to, much like COD zombies and Left 4 Dead 2 you well shoot zeds or zombies but it is a challenging game.
Cynic 0055 Jun 18 @ 10:33pm
I've thought about getting into Terraria, but I am too familiar with Minecraft, & I feel like it would be hard for me to do without investing a whole lot of time to learn it. I have heard it is a really fun game; 150+ Achievements too I think.

Speaking of 150+ Achievements though, I've never played them (but own them), but I do want to get into Killing Floor. It would be a good "chip away" guide for me. I just don't have the room to work on it yet. They seem like pretty fun games though.
Division Jun 18 @ 10:07pm
As for Terraria I cheesed it, you can basically get every achievements in one world but no shame trying to use different world for such achievements. As far as bug achievements go I think majority are not gonna be unobtainable. How I cheese it is by using workshop maps as such I did my best putting the effort earning them within 15 hours. Feel free to play Terraria as much as you can because it is addictive and fun progressing.

As for my next games to play it will be Killing Floor 1 and 2 then the modern Hitman 2 and 3 games. I think Killing Floor 1 without cheesing the achievements is gonna be challenging but it should prove fun.
Division Jun 18 @ 10:00pm
Baby steps is all it takes, keep it up Cynic I hope you can keep going.
Cynic 0055 Jun 16 @ 3:25pm
Whew, at long last I have finally finished my first playthrough of Arkham Knight; I have one more session or two to clean up some random Achievements & then I will be able to move on to NG+. Fortunately unlike the previous two games, there is no Achievement for 100% on NG+, you just have to rebeat the Main Story Missions & that is it. So that shouldn't be a problem.

Then it is just the DLC Episodes which should be very easy & fun. After that it will be the AR Challenge slog.

Currently, it will be a two Part guide I think; the first playthrough will be covered in Part 1 as it is sitting at 130 pages which translates to around 36-40 Sequences long at the moment. Ideally I can fit everything else into another 30-35 Sequence Part 2, but depending on how arduous covering the AR Challenges will be, that might have to be its own separate Part 3.
Cynic 0055 Jun 16 @ 3:25pm
I have decided not to take a break & plan to just push through it all unless I hit a mental roadblock doing the AR Challenges. I will do some serious damage to it by the end of the month, & am hoping to release the guide early July. I will then finally start working on Blasphemous 2 when it is out, or when I need a break from the AR Challenges.

Thanks for everyone's patience on this one, I know those who have been asking for it have been waiting for over a year now. :8bitheart::batsilo:
Zoutje Jun 2 @ 2:27am
Just finished Plants vs Zombies with your great guide as usual. Was a fun game that I never played when I was younger. Still holds up today! :cozybethesda:
Division May 31 @ 8:11pm
Hey Cynic, would it be okay if you can start a group chat for Left 4 Dead 2? We can even play on expert realism if you like to.
Zoutje May 27 @ 12:45am
Thanks for the update Cynic!
Cynic 0055 May 26 @ 8:00pm
As an aside for everyone else, wrapping up the Broken Road DLC for Days Gone took me longer than I wanted & set me a few weeks back. I'll plug away on a few "random Guides" I'll be releasing before the end of the month, Left4dead 1 being one of them. But come June, with my slate cleared, I will be going back to putting in a bunch of work into Arkham Knight again finally along with starting Blasphemous 2. Those will be my new main priorities for the next bit.
Cynic 0055 May 26 @ 7:58pm
Thanks Division, I finally pinned down my Friend to help me with the final Versus Achievements then left my PC running overnight grinding the 53K kills for the last Achievement. I've played both Left4dead games to death on Xbox, but this is the first time I've 100% the first game before. I should have my guide out for it later this week.

Looking forward to working on Left4Dead 2 as it is essentially the same game but with more content & it has the Steam Workshop enabled too. Rayman's Mutation Mod makes a lot of the harder Achievements like the Expert Campaigns & Gold Survival a lot easier to do.
Division May 26 @ 7:45pm
Aye, congrats on your Left 4 Dead 1 100%, you will enjoy Left 4 Dead 2 more as well especially the mods.
