Awesome, Castlevania group. The classic Castlevania trilogy on NES and Super Castlevania on SNES are my favorites. Dumped many hours into those and similar type games. Symphony of the Night is pretty good too. I've been meaning to play Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow though. Lords of Shadow can eat me.

No legal way I am afraid. Interesting how SOTN has never been ported to PC.
Emulation is your only choice. Either the original PS release or through Dracula X Chronicles for the PSP.

I wouldnt mind a dawn of sorrow sequel.. but the saturday morning anime aesthetic needs to go die in a ditch. Even if portrait of ruin tried to sport a similar aesthetic, the addition of more barroque and gothic elements make it shine tenfold in comparision.

oh it's been praised a lot?! I mostly hear Symphony of the Night being praised the most (even though it's one of my favorite games of all time). Circle of the Moon seems like that one underrated gem. I've never really noticed the background thing lol

Yeah, I played it.
While it is a good game, I myself do not see why people praise it that much, even above the other GBA CVs.
Just my opinion.

The backgrounds are not as vibrant and most locations look the same.
The castle map looks like one giant block.

Though I have to say the DSS system was great as well as the challenge.

guys does anyone know a list of games that are in the style of Castlevania 1? and not metroid vania (not that I dont like it I just hink I like the original liner kind of style more) I know that castlevania 3 was basicly the "yeeeaaah, maybe we should go back to what worked in the first place)
