! How do i know for sure this program is safe?
Hi, i get asked quite a few times by people how they can know for sure if the software is safe.
But you can't really find out if a software app is safe by asking the author if it's safe, cause if he's malicious he will naturally tell you it's safe, therefore you should probably never just take the authors word for it.

So all i can do as the author is give you some info and you can draw your own conclusions.
  • This app has been on Steam since 29-April-2012 and first appeared on the old forums here.
My forum account is bound to my Steam account, I've had zero bans to my account.

  • Regarding VAC and other anti-cheat, no person has ever been banned from any anti-cheat system in the time it has existed, It does not hook into your game or into DirectX, it merely changes the style of the window, basically which is technically similar as when you would maximize or minimize a window.

  • At the time of writing this group has 1,243 members and the current version has 38,475 downloads, we have forums, feel free to check them out, and in two years no one ever had it's account compromised due to using this application.

  • Several Game Developers have recommended this application to be used if Borderless mode was desired. I'll add links to this when i find the posts again.

Hope this helps answering your questions, feel free to look into the forums, and happy gaming :-)

You're absolutely correct, but I'm still paranoid. Just because ~1000 members are using it and it's been on the forums from more than a year still doesn't prove that the software won't be scanning my personal files or maybe take a sneak peak on my credentials while I type them.

Is the software open-source? Do you have the whole source code up online? That's the only way (other than a vouch/recommendation from a software developer himself) to be a 100% sure, until then I'll just have to take my chances and trust you. :csdsick:

No it's not open source, feel free to block it in your firewall though. http://www.wikihow.com/Block-a-Program-With-Windows-Firewall
Or check your "recource monitor" to see that it does not connect to the internet in any way.

There's 5 false positives and 63 negatives on that link.
Mostly thanks to the community for using the "report a false positives" option in their AV, after which it got reviewed and flagged safe.
