but yeh, if someone lands you one when the combat just started it takes all the fun :/
i know its flashy and superficially impressive but damn when you think about it, it takes less skill than r1 spamming an estoc. when doing that at least you have to somewhat manage stamina and you're not quiet sure when to strike in anticipation. but with parrying, you know exactly when to strike, the only downside is that there is a big risk reward challenge
if you mess up your dead but if you dont then you've pretty much won, its kinda like flipping a coin but you can make the coin land on your side the more you practise
1) Choose your weapon: Get a fast weapon, basically any straight sword works well. It just has to be faster than the fastest recovery time parry tool (I believe this is Caestus atm).
2) Mind Games: Act really agressive, without actually putting yourself at risk. Spam R1 outside of range, dash about, make them think you are a fool.
3) Patience: Rush in just like before and simply wait, the parry will come. When it does, simply wait for half a second then punish with two attacks. Repeat until parry spammer is deceased.
Even if they figure it out after a couple of times, its a good chunk of free damage to start the duel off with :)
