#1, and online university is hardly a citable source, #2, on a humerous note the NY Times column does state that the colonists discovered that the communal method failed, badly, and #3, if you read further, it says that the pligrims were not like subjects to socialism, but shareholders in a company, which was directed at realizing profit. There very compact isnt communal in nature, for governence, but of a democratic, majoritarian method. They only briefly engaged in a communial(or Collective) practice, and that was simply to get things started.

Also, i must note, collectivism is still not socialism, though it has often been paired with ideologies like Maoism, Lennism, Stalinism, ad Facism.

Which is why we are independents and two changing our political party. We shall embrace Socialism but not Utopian or modern day. We embrace the ideals it was founded on, and Pilgrims were part "socialist," kind of like most moderate socialist. Their since of community was theorized as I would put it as a "Community Socialism under God." And at first they were known as collectivist(using socialist parts), but changed after the first several years due to realizing how it was thought of "Utopian" could not work. So it ended and they embraced 'Free Enterprise'.

seriously, read up on this.... the Pilgrims didnt use socialism, that would imply that the people owned everything in a communal sense, but they didnt. Did they have a strong sense of community, yes, that was the world at the time, but socialism in general did not exist, much less as a policital party in 1803.

And yes, i did copy and paste, thats why is quoted, that is historical fact, something the administration of this group is very keen on keeping to at this stage, because if we start acting way different, we arent sticking to realistic RP.

I'm not stating Utopian Socialism anymore just Socialism in general. Also love the wiki copy/paste, and furthermore my statement of the Pilgrims was never talked about. How they used the "Utopian" Socialism Model(never called it but in there minds under God they believed in it). Socialism furthermore has existed forever, but I will state No real name(Socialism) was around till Karl Marx.

Further, those movements are very, very minor, conservativism is far more common due to the traditionalist policy, and the religious beliefs of the time.

Also even Plato gave our real first ideas of Socialism, but again wasn't called socialism. Socialism has been around longer then feudalism and capitalism combined, but it was not called Socialism.

Again that is Communism, and actually it did while not being called Socialism it existed. Look at the pilgrims they used the system of socialism, but at that time it wasn't called socialism.

Utopia Socialism existed at this point(which I dont believe can exist since this is an RP we are starting the first real "start" of Socialism that is Utopian).
