I'm a good trader (i traded up to 17 keys) and i understand most of the trading vocabulary and unusual trading vocabulary. I just get really scared when unusual trades are involving lots of money in keys. Please help me to start unusual trading

im in the same boat as maka but i have a bit of a trade lined up and want some advice, i found a listing on trade.tf for a Glengarry Bonnet (lime green) (Memory Leak) for 15 keys pure but that is all i have in keys, would you recommend trying to buy it and quick selling it off again or do you think im wasting my time and keys and will get stuck with an unusual i will lose keys on? thank you for any help.

What unusual were you looking at
and if you have 17 keys pure, look for a hat that is worth 20 keys and offer.
BP.tf price is averaged according to a mixture between pure and mixed. you will find that if you offer 10% - 20% off on unusuals with pure, youll find yourself with a nicer hat.

Try to find hats that everyone would like, therefore getting more offers. If i were you, i would look at a bubbling company man and just throw offers out there. you might find that you can resell the hat quickly with profit, with a good low tier effect on an all-class hat

If you are in a situation where you have a 17 key unusual, look at what is good about it and what unusuals you want (realistically) never be affraid to offer on people's accounts, the worst that can happen is they say no. DO NOT try to boost your hat's price due to it's paint, level or spell, that's just something people say to get more out of a buyer and it dosnt work in your favour. Just be friendly.

Do not expect full price in pure, it rarely ever happens, if it does then you're a luck man or have a rare 1 of 1 hat that is heavily desired. Be careful with mixed if it includes hats, though the full price is greater than your hat worth, you'll find you cant sell your hats for that ammout in pure, this is also very teadious.

Dont get scammed, keep all your trades in the one window, if you dont, 95% of the time you'll get scammed.

i have a question about unusual taunt's, are they worth buying or would you suggest avoiding them and buying hats. i've seen absurd deal's like 50% off which realy makes me think it isn't worth it if people are practicly throwing them away like that.

I would say avoid taunts all together... they are not desirable when compaired to cosmetics. Cosmetics are pretty much something everyone will see as soon as you are seen, though a taunt is like a fancy effect on something 1 in 100 people will see

ok thank you, i seen a Most Wanted : Skill Gotten Gains for = 11 keys ! on tf2outpost after getting a few keys, it is worth around 22 keys and i seen it was half off, if i seen a deal like that again would you still recomend passing on it?

It's a tricky guess. You could be smart about it and offer on an unusual that is 18 keys saying you have that taunt (although you don't "yet") and see if anyone is interested. If they are, buy the taunt and sell it streight away for their unusual. Could boost your buying region

thank you for the advice, im new to unusual trading (already been scamed out of a stormy storms Teutonic Toque and had to start from scratch. put in multiple reports and still have the scam chat but nothing has been done.) and i even with complications have found it more fun then playing the game. being so new to it i have so much to learn and i hope this group can help me grow and learn how to trade effectivly in this cut throat trading system.

here is a question. if you are trying to sell an unual weapon (for instence a Hot Corsair Scattergun (Factory New) specialised killstreak deadly daffodil that im trying to sell) what would you price it at and would it be posible to sell?

i have a question, if anyone ever says to you when trading, "can you get your item checked" or "could we see if it is a glitched item" is it automaticly someone trying to scam you and/or how do you aproche it?
