Steam Input stops sending input to games on lost input
An issue I'm experiencing across all games is that when my controller input is changed or disconnects, or was not connected before game launch, Steam Input fails to pass inputs to the game.

Example 1: while playing Megabonk over Steam Link, sometimes my iPad or wireless controller will sleep if I pause and walk away. On waking one of the devices, controller input ceases to work in game. Input still works in the Steam Big Picture UI & controller configuration menus.

Example 2: when launching Peak, if the controller was not connected to the PC before launching, controller input is not passed to Peak. Input still works in the Steam Big Picture UI & controller configuration menus.

In both cases, Steam detects the controller and it functions within the Steam interface, Overlay, & Big Picture UI. However, games act as if no controller is connected.

Some players within other games around the Steam forums have reported similar issues with alt+tabbing as well (I have not tested this).

Just like it happens to me and as I explain in this post. Hopefully they fix it because it’s really annoying, and I can only play with a controller.

I have different OS, different controller, different games, same problem. it was fine before the latest updates to steam, since then if my dualsense isn't on when I launch the game it will never be detected by the game, if it is connected and powers down from afk/battery dies or something it won't ever reconnect and I have to quit the game to connect a controller again

I tried disabling Steam Input and, at least in Hollow Knight Silksong, it works again once turned off and back on. I'm in the current client beta.

This works 50% of the time for me, when I'm able to disable it. The problem is majority of the time Steam Input won't even disable until the game is closed. Experienced this in Megabonk.
