[Linux] client crash when trying to update steam
My steam client will crash when I try to install a new update (which terminates my current gnome session) and kicks me all the way back to the gdm login screen.

Received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'. (Details: serial 35520 error_code 3 request_code 25 (core protocol) minor_code 0)

I've found multiple reports made by other users:

"after starting the steam client, the session crashes sporadically, taking me back to the gdm login screen" https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/4489

STEPS
- Update your steam client (and/or rejoin the beta).
- Begin and wait for the update to complete.

RESULTS
Update ends abruptly (terminates and restarts the gnome session) with a blackscreen and gpu fans running at full speed.

EXPECTED
Have the opportunity to either postpone and/or immediately restart the client when the client has finished updating and not crash.

I have the exact same issue. After a crash I can start Steam without issues, but once in a while the entire GNOME Session crashes again when I want to open the client.

OS: Manjaro Linux x86_64
Kernel: Linux 6.12.60-1-MANJARO
DE: GNOME 49.2
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
PU 1: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
Mesa 1:25.2.7
