THE WHOLE CHRISTMAS SALE ISSUE
I for one allways look forward to the sales on STEAM and i waited for this one eagerly and with much hope that it would again be great and be....................well an event like normal.
Then first up came the issue with the GEMS and the scamming that went on with that and that put me off a bit,but they sorted it out and got it all ready and fair for the auction.
The auction then started and as i had sold all my gems from getting rid of the junk in my inventory (made a fair ammount for them to) i wasent so bothered, until i saw what games where up for grabs and the fact that they were going for so little in gems as to give the games anywhere from 80 to 90% of even on really up to date games.
So i entered the auctions and won myself a lot of games and then thought "OH well may as well get gifts for my friends as well" which i then proceded to do.
So auction over i prepared myself for the sales, first day and WHATTTTTTTTTTTTT the sale sucks, second day and WHATTTTTTTTTTTT it sucked again and this went on for two weeks until (THANK GOD) it ended,OH and just to top it of we had a whole two days encore instead of just one which let even less games get a discount ?????
So what do you think to the sale this year and what were your highs and lows????
For me the high was the AUCTION and the low (SADLY I WILL SAY) was the actual sale itself.

Yeah...it's quite stupid sales that I ever seen. I remember Auction events and someone ruined it before Valve quickly shut it down. I'm little upset about exploiters who ruined the event.

I saw people putting way to many gems into the bloody auction. Way more than any person could make on steam with the stuff in their inventory. As for the sale it was really nice for some of the stuff I had been meaning on getting but never had the chance like: Gta collection/ Saints row 4 GOTC/ May payne collection/ dishonored GOTY (actually I lie about this one, I got it on GMG)/ Rogue legacy / shadow warrior and a few others that I bought for myself and friends.

I was real disappointed in the sales myself. I usually come out with about 10 new games every sale and just ended up with maybe 3 this year.

I picked up many a game for way less than it went in the sale (like i said 80 to 90% off) and the games i did get never went that low even in the sale and they were games i actually wanted.
Yes some games nearly went for as much as they would even when not of sale, but i thought the auction was better than the sale and to be honest with region locking getting more traction for STEAM,eventually the only way to get games at a decent and fair price (on some games) will be in the sales and i for one bet that in future the discounts wont be any where near as good as they have been in previous sales.
Last years sale there were more flash sales and better discounts and it felt like more of an event,is this all a sign of things to come for future sales?????

I ended up getting about two games in the sale and thats it,a very limp and BORINGGGGGGGGGGGGGG affair for me this year and one i hope they dont repeat again anytime soon. The auction though was a great idea and i hope they do that again (ALLTHOUGH-now more people realise thats where it was at next time it might not be as fruitful a thing to be a part of as it was this time)

I wish they could go back to doing the winter sales with the coal and presents, that was so much fun. I loved trying for the achievements they had us try and get and the feeling of getting either coal, a coupon or a game. Even the summer sale which had the summer camp and everyone tuning in to an exciting surprise was amazing.
