Almost two years after the server closed due to lack of time and better alternatives that seemed exist at the time, the now SOBS.pro (yes I managed to lose the previous domain) xDre4m server is coming back up, thanks to the support of @Moto that is sponsoring the project. If you don’t care about the details, you can skip to the launch info at the bottom of this announcement.

It seems like no server is still true to what made surf fun and competitive in the first place and that most communities value money over that. Obviously, we like money too. It keeps the servers up and running, but we would rather have it go down, than sell out to keep it up without a reason. More on that later. Our idea is not to divide the community or hate a different play style, we just want something we can enjoy and be proud of.

We haven’t forgot, the West Coast Combat Surf server should also make a comeback, if everything goes according to plan, for thoses of you in that area or that prefer that play style.

There will be, every friday, map rotation on the main server.

Valve recently killed ads in CS:GO so it is no longer a way for us to keep the servers up, we have added some new VIP features that you can enjoy if you would like to support the server, but as always, there’s multiple ways to do so, and the same goes to get VIP. Contact a staff member for more details!

While the forum is still up, we would like to hear your feedback on our discord[discordapp.com], we want to know what you think about this and what you would like to see in the future.

Starting tomorrow, xDre4m will be shutdown due to inactivity after more than a year and a half of uptime. We think there are better alternatives that you guys enjoy playing more, so, for now, it's better this way. This will allow us to provide better support for West Coast which we'll be primarily focusing which you can see how to connect to below.

While we are restructuring the website you should use Discord[discordapp.com] for appeals, admin applications and such, our moderators can often be found here, feel free to send them a private message when needed.

We also have a big project coming up that we will be very proud to announce, something that has never been done before, so stay tuned. :)

Spreading Too Much
Lately we have been adding lots of servers, sure we didn't expect them to work out they were more like place holders than anything but this has come to an end. We might still aad some more servers or bring back some if anyone finds time to do it.

Servers Are Moving to US Central
We decided to move the servers to US Central because we will be lowering the amount of server since the majority of the staff dosen't enough time to work on so many projects at the same time. Lowering the amount of servers will allow us for a better location for most players and for us to have thoses servers improved. Make sure to contact a moderator or use the forum as soon as possible if you notice something wrong with the new servers (lag, broken plugins, etc..).

One Year and an Half Later
We can all agree that servers used to be great and well maintained (some might say they still are) back when everyone from the staff including me had lots of time to put into it. Has things went on and us having to study, work, etc... Less and less time was available for the servers and that allowed us to do many things which sadly aren't possible anymore unless someone with the right skills is willing to pick it up.

Mistakes Were Made
As time and mods went by many of the things which were the real central idea behind the servers and what it should be shifted, maybe due to the nature of the community or just ourselves but ultimately it seemed like we were doing the things for the wrong reasons: it wasn't centered on fun anymore it seemed.
