Hello Stargate Community,

We are now considering the prospect of opening Stargate: The Last Stand for development by a group of community developers and staff that wish to continue the game where we left it as a prototype, at the start of Nuclear Dawn.

We have hesitated up until now to do such a thing, as one thing that many things that most people may not have considered is that the Stargate game is as much of a total conversion as any free project can be on the Source engine. Nothing from Half-Life² remains, and therefore, the only people that would be capable of taking on such a task as to maintain and repair the game's flaws will have to be fairly experienced programmers who have already worked with the engine. One of the many unappreciated aspects of the modification is that very fact alone. Much of the code produced behind the scenes of the game were a stepping point for other InterWave products, and so should we do this we will be keeping the project internal and under NDA - unfortunately we cannot simply make it an open source project.

After Stargate the site and community forums have been light on the updates recently, and for that we apologize. It was, however, all for the good cause of bringing you all more excellent gaming.

We have been working hard on the first concept screens and ingame mechanics of InterWave Studios’ first commercial game, and it’s almost ready for the limelight... but not quite.

Keep watching this space in the coming weeks for the first screenshots and concept art of InterWave’s next opus... the Dawn is rising!

After our first release we have been working very hard in the background to fix all bugs that have been submitted and to add a few things here and there to make the gameplay better. For this reason I am glad to announce the 1.1 release of our Stargate: The Last Stand mod which is now available for download on our downloads page where you can find both the full installer and patch version from version 1.0 for both server and client.

After our first beta release, a few days ago, we have been working on fixing as many known bugs as possible. Our main developers are currently going through almost every bug and suggestions that have been posted on the forums and send to us by e-mail. We want to thank everyone for being so dedicated to our game and trying to make it as good as possible.

One of the things that is going to be changed with the next patch aswell is that we will have an icon on the left of the avatar showing if it's either an InterWave developer, a Donator or a normal player. We have also found the bug that is causing some crashes on both client and server, which will be fixed aswell and we will have a few map optimizations and weapon fixes coming.

The patch should be available somewhere next week, so stay tuned for more news to come...
