So I've waited until today to post my announcement for the closure of Mob Tactics.

The first of many things I'd like to say is thank you to everyone that made mtx possible. I thoroughly enjoyed my time managing these servers when I took over from zlj (kudos to zlj and Wolf for making them). We've had our ups and downs, but mainly ups and that's the memories I'd like to focus on.

For me, personally, I have not been motivated for the servers since around the beginning of this year. After playing TF2 almost solidly for 4 years and managing the servers for a year, I lost interest. Overall, it becomes a waste of money to keep the servers active if I don't have the interest or motivation to do anything for them. And for that, I apologise. I never wanted the servers to be for-profit, hence why I didn't push for donations of any kind. The servers were purely for the purpose of entertainment, and I hope that's what they delivered to most of you.

Both me and Wolf decided that it was best to close the servers, due to our current lack of motivation. We have both enjoyed our time with everyone that we've met and played with over the last year, and are sad to see it go. But, everything must come to an end.

I will miss these servers, and the community that helped build and grow our little Dodgeball Universe. They exceeded my expectations in terms of members on the group and regular players by leaps and bounds. To put it in perspective I gathered some Stats.

- 11,400 Total Players (from the point I added the ranking system)

- 34,023 Minutes spent playing on tfdb_octagon (567 hours)

- Khan (14,642 points) - Our #1 top player on the ranking system

There are many other achievements that have been made in this community but far too many for me to list out.

Last but not least, Thank You to everyone that helped build, grow, sustain and improve our servers and help the community thrive even in the darkest of times.

A special side-note for the members of staff that made the servers a better place for everyone

Hello everyone,

For now I will keep this short and simple,

It is with regret and a heavy heart that I'm here to inform all of you that the Mob Tactics Dodgeball servers will close indefinitely on Sunday, April 16th

Without going too much into details, both Feesh and myself have recently moved on with our lives and with a change of pace so too have our interests shifted.

Having administrated various DB servers over the course of the past seven years I've reached a point where I no longer find myself capable or motivated to properly maintain the servers and do my duties as an administrator. With this post also including my resignation for every other server besides Mob Tactics.


I'd like to take this time to thank each and every one of you for a wonderful time these past couple years.. Mob Tactics had surpassed all of our expectations in terms of activity, community and memorable moments to be had. What started out as a server made by two friends to screw around on it had quickly turned into a community on its own, comparing to the likes of WPEU. For this I am ever grateful and I will never forget the countless hours I have spent with so many of you.

This marks the end of my TF2 / DB 'career' though I might hop on from time to time to catch up on latest news, and with this I bid you farewell <3

Some of you may have noticed that 24/7 has not been running. However, this is not the case, I didn't notice but the server hosts have upgraded the server's hardware therefore changing the IP of the server.

The new IP address for 24/7 has been updated on the group profile, but I will also post it here.

Wishing all a Late Merry Christmas and a upcoming Happy New Year from all of us at Mob Tactics!

I'd like to take the time to apologise for the late announcement as I can assume everyone including myself are busy with working and family and other various social interactions that we'd rather avoid by sitting at our computers for 20 hours a day (am I right, or am I right?).

Also, to thank everyone including Staff and community members for your continuous support for our servers. I personally, but all of us strive to give you the best experience for gaming, whether that's tryharding or playing for "fun". We hope that we've achieved that or can improve on that in the future.

Some of you may have noticed that the rocket feels a little strange on #1 (Octagon 24/7 Server). This is because I have reverted the physics to what they used to be not long ago. The rocket has the same base speed (or spawn rocket), but has a higher speed increment (how fast it gets after each reflect).

The rocket is also tigher, meaning that orbits will be a little harder to maintain. Again, this is very similar to what it used to be, and this is how it's going to be from now on.

Wolf and I have a few things planned for mtx, we're going to try raise it up a bit into what we believe it should be, to make it a more interactive experience for everyone. We will be removing the Jump Server, and will remain locked for a little while until we have a 100% plan what to do with it. No promises, but we're hoping to make it a Hub/Trade Server, packed with all the heavy-loading plugins like ScrapBank, etc etc.

We're going to be organising/setting up donations (bare in mind, that the whole purpose of donations is not so that we can make a profit from the servers, but to provide people with extra perks if that's what they want).

I will also be setting up a easy-peasy website/forum to allow for a more interactive community.

Suggestions are always welcome, we enjoy your feedback since it's you that matters, not us.
