As you've probably heard(*cough*), the SirPlease hub has decided to lose some weight and parallelize the effectiveness in a more appropriate model, given the current circumstances in the community. Speaking in layman's terms, objectively there is no need for many cool servers if there are no fun games going on. That's why Sir forwarded an offer to me, which I had found quite interesting and agreed with without any misplaced hesitation.

From now on, Hyper-V will become your #1 competitive battlefield in L4D2, while, of course, mantaining the high bar set by SirPlease servers. And, I promise you this, even exceeding it. Just give them a try right now and see for yourself.

SirPlease, on the other hand, will concentrate on sponsoring cups, events, some part of Hyper-V's servers, as well as the most acclaimed community streamers, thus actually securing the community and game's active bloodstream. As you can probably see, Hyper-V's collaboration with SirPlease has virtually no downsides for you, the end consumer. You only benefit from even better servers and even more frequent competitive events with prize money. Oh, and, given what was said, Hyper-V will be shutting down its mix network.
