Timers posted on your HUD
While in General someone had shared their opinion on what they thought of the timers. (Proposed they were cheating and refrained from using them) I think that's cool and cutos for him for making his gameplay a little more challenging, I however don't think it's cheating. Anyway, I was going to post this on that discussion but it has been locked. I figured it would make kinda sense in this area anyway.

---> Real point of post:

If Overkill ever intergrates the HUD timers and other features that HoxHud offers, I feel like they could easily tie in with the skill trees.

For instance, Downs/Joker would go into MM tree.
Drill/Other timers into Tech tree.
Pagers and the detecting thing unlocked via Ghost tree.

Just curious if anyone felt the same way or if you had anything else to say about this.

I don't feel that the timers or counts would be worth spending any points on if that's the way it panned out. Each of them can be easily tracked on your own without needing any HUD notification to count it for you, though they are extremely convenient. Downs just have to be remembered, Timers can be checked by looking at the drill screen, and pagers again just have to be remembered.

I can see you're point on not wanting to spend skill points just to get those perks. They are not a necessity for a successful hesit, that being said, in the MM tree you can get a perk called "Combat Medic" 30% health is nice and all as a reason to ace it, however, if it added the counts of downs as a perk that also comes with the skill being aced I feel like it would be a really nice skill to ace.

If it was added to something else as a bonus that was already quite beneficial, then maybe. However if they just put it in as its own perk, I wouldn't take it, or if they just slapped it onto a perk that no one really uses in an attempt to get more people to take it.

If you were doing time related things you could easily construct multiple timers either software defined or built from hardware to call that cheating is absurd.

One thing we have to remember is that New Hoxton can tell someone how much time has passed, down to the second. Perhaps it should be shouted out to people by Hoxton per minute increment, or he has his own timer.

Or, require the tree Hoxton represents to be unlocked by one person on the team for the whole team to see the timers, plus have him shout it out at major points (60 seconds, 30 seconds, 10 seconds, done), perhaps? And perhaps have a limitation on this imposed by a high difficulty level such as Overkill or Deathwish, to make it just a little bit harder.
