You know your own link shows the the numbers the game is pulling now are better than the numbers for most of its existence, right?
You can't take the PEAK player count (or even the average) for a month where the game was free and promoted as such and use that as the average player base. It averaged 80.8k players that month up from 9k the month before. That's clearly an outlier.
The game is averaging ~25k players over the last 30 days. Until that free promotion, the game had only had only averaged better than 25k players ONCE, and that was during Spring Break 2015. If you actually go through and look at the game's average players, it's pretty much doing as well now as it ever has been. It's not dead by any means. Plus, as others have said, it's not an MMO or BR game where you NEED a big player base.
