UPDATE: Polygon has supposedly reached out to GSC which clarified a few things. Firstly GSC claims the year 2021 listed under the STALKER2 name is not a release date and totally unrelated (so we can expect dev hell for who knows how long). Secondly the trailer has nothing to do with the game and is basically just concept art. Thirdly A-Life tech will still be present in the next title despite the shift to UE4. GSC has also revealed an FAQ which addresses some of these issues:
