Been a while since I had anything to make an announcement over. The Steam Community Beta is out now and with it come big changes to almost all areas of Steam Community including groups. Things are a little better organised now and the ability to have forums has been introduced.

I've added some forums for the group so there's actually a place for disussion now as opposed to there just being group and announcement comments which didn't really promote discussion. There's only 21 members and there's not been a comment in a while so I'm not expecting there to be much discussion going on if any at all but the options are there for you if you want to.

If you'd like the group to be a little more active then feel free to start up some discussions, make suggestions for improvements in the Suggestions / Ideas section that I'm just about to put up or even invite a few FFXIII fans if you know any.

Most if not all of you will be unable to use these new features at the moment however as the Steam Community Beta is invite only but you'll gain access to the new revamped Community when it goes live to everyone at the end of the month.

Just thought I'd give you all a heads up and also let you know that I'm still around if you're wanting to try and kick some life back into the group. I'm certainly not opposed to that. Oh and I will be unable to moderate the FFXIII-2 forum sections if discussions do start there on account of me not actually having had a chance to play the game yet sadly.

Final Fantasy XIII will be released here in the UK this Tuesday(9th of March). The wait is almost over and there's quite a few limited edition versions of the game to choose from so there's something for everyone.

Unfortunately there's not much news of a midnight launch. Hopefully there will be news of this happening over the next few days as midnight launches are where most of the fun is in getting a new game.

Do any of you happen to know if any stores are planning a midnight launch here in the UK?

Gamestop are holding one so at least one launch is confirmed for America.

I've been thinking recently about how this group doesn't really do much and would like to change that. What's been stopping me from getting events going is the lack of members we seem to have.

I would like to request that the members(all 4 of you) in this group encourage people to join and get more members. Of course, none of you have to do this but it would be very much appreciated.

We've got a FFXIII community to build in time for launch. :)

Final Fantasy XIII has recently been given a release date in Japan by Square Enix. A limited edition Final Fantasy XIII PlayStation 3 Slim was also announced.

The L.E. console will be launched along side the game on 17 December 2009 in Japan and stock for the PS3 is looking very limited so you'd better get in there early if your wanting to pick one up.

A specific release date has yet to be announced for North America and Europe but Square Enix have said it will be sometime in the Spring of 2010 and have promised a simultaneous release for both regions.
