I have had some problems with showcasing emoticons on my profile and thought that someone else may be facing the same issue so I will share my problem and solution.

The profile info box has maximum capacity of 8000 bytes, not 8000 characters as some people claim mistakenly.
I ran into a problem when pasting bunch of emoticons to the info box, about 7600 characters and equally as many bytes. I saved the profile and everything looked fine and all the emoticons were showcased correctly. When I later wanted to edit another element in my profile, I noticed that after saving the changes, the untouched info box had removed some characters from the end. (before ...example | after ...examp)
After looking into it I found out that Steam changes : (00111010, 1 byte) character to : (11001011 10010000, 2 bytes) when you save your profile and close the editor, reopen it and change anything. Since all instances of : (00111010, 1 byte) are replaced with : (11001011 10010000, 2 bytes) you run into 8000 byte limit faster and can showcase less stuff in your profile.

So every time I want to change anything in my profile I have replace every character : (11001011 10010000, 2 bytes) with : (00111010, 1 byte) so it will not remove content from my profile. This quite annoying but it's the only solution I have.

I have ran into couple Steam profiles where emoticons have been unnecessarily split into 2 separate boxes when single should have done the trick and my guess is that those people have ran into the same problem but had not figured out the solution for it.

Would someone would be willing to try and replicate this? I have tried the Steam client and different browsers so those should not be the problem.
