As for Steam, I do not see a good reason why they couldn't do something. Logs of the chat exist, user ID, image URL's, etc. (including deleted things) Anyway, I digress...
Edit: Would Steam admin accept screenshots as proof? Just curious.
Well said <3
If you go to the member list you will easily identify most of them by looking to their avatar or wallpaper (they are sexual themed). It seems some people join here because they find it funny somehow. Probably they are those that ask for respect and understanding when they are the target, but for others they have none.
But since this group has thousands of people its going to be hard to control (maybe start by those that are online?).
Also i dont know steam terms of service, can you kick somebody just by their profile? Or you need some circumstance to be allowed?
And also we are used to being mocked. The Bible states clearly that this is to be expected.
In Jesus words. "they will hate you because they hated me"
That's part of the issue: They would join, post their visually offensive stuff, then leave. You can't ban someone who isn't here. It would happen in just a matter of minutes.
As for TOS, we have a great amount of leeway here. We have the power to ban whoever we want. I do my best to make it temporary, as a heads-up, in hopes that they change their behavior. More bad behavior gets a longer ban, until I have no other choice but to make it permanent because the person has shown that they're only interested in trolling.
As long as someone doesn't act out, we leave them alone. Having an offensive profile avatar is "acting out", and since there's a chance that avatar will get posted in the main montage, where anyone can see it without having to search for it, we ban them with the option of reinstatement if they change their avatar.
Not like it's too hard to find anyway, if one knows how Steam works. If they tried it here, we'd have an easier time of reporting them by just going to the profile and reporting it that way.
What a lot of people don't know is that anything you post in a discussion in a group is there forever, even if you delete it. The admin staff can see it, but nobody else can. Now, if WE can see it, I'm sure a Steam moderator can see it, and it's not visible to anyone but us, so that's a better situation for us than the chat stuff was.
Not to mention the fact that if you post something here, even if it's deleted, I can still ban you. Problem solved.
At least for us Christians: we won't let this world form us in any way. We gotta be really sensitive to ungodly games and things that can affect our manners and our brain. Everything we watch and see with our eyes may be poison to our brain, soul/spiritual life and who we are supposed to be.
Ofc a good choice to just deactivate the whole group chat. While ppl still continue to attack this group with evil things and demonic related stuff, they will for sure be thrown back to where they belong. With that said, it's always room for repentance and Grace for those ppl out there who are willing to repent of their sin and start a new life with Jesus Christ.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17
It gotta start somewhere, and in this context, it all start with Jesus. Your sin can be forgiven and you can receive a new life, a new creation in Him. Grace enough for everyone. He is looking for a humble person who willingly will start a new life and give up your own.
Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Matthew 10:39
Mark says it this way:
For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.
Mark 8:35
May God bless you all on His path with Him.
He gotcha back. Just trust in Him.
Just jump in. You'll be fine!
