So, you did not create the account yourself?
Unfortunately, accounts are not transferable (except in very rare cases where Steam will allow an account of a deceased person to be taken over by a family member if asked) and also not sellable. I hope you bought the account with a credit card, because you were scammed and need to issue a charge-back-the person you bought it from likely immediately claimed it back-or the account might have been stolen and the original owner was alerted and claimed it back.
You won’t get that account back, sorry to say.
ETA: Re-reading your first post and something isn’t clicking. Yours was the first email address but you “are aware of his original email address?” Why? Your first post makes it sound like you (for some reason) had a “friend” set up your steam account-your second post sounds like you bought the account from a “friend.” I’m confused.
Sorry for the confusion. To clarify, the account was originally created by my close friend as his second account. It only contained two games GTA V and Left 4 Dead. He later gave me permission to use the account because he said he would no longer use it.
We communicated through Discord, and I informed him that I would be changing the email address and phone number so he would no longer have access. I did not purchase the account, and no credit card was used.
I understand that Steam does not allow account transfers. I would just like to ask whether the original creator of the account would still be able to recover it through Steam Support, since he was the first owner
Thank you for understanding me, and thank you for your time and effort
Thank you, I’ll talk to my friend about this
Yes, your friend is the one who would need to retrieve the account since it was his first.
