I dont get why older versions of proton would work better for some games (?)
sometimes i browse the protondb to check out how well the game runs for linux. but sometimes people are usong older versions for better results. how could this be ??

The new version gives me a glitch in a game "sticky keys" where the character moves on his own as if the key was stuck.
That's why I have to use an older version.
Makes a hell of a lot more sense when you retrogame. There isn't a "correct" version of proton when you're dealing with old titles with dodgy programming.
For the same reason that using older drivers can fix glitches in games, optimisations for the latest and greatest sometimes break what was already working.
