Need help qwith new computer
So til no ive been playing with a laptop that wasnt meant for playing, and just now i got a new pc and for some reason when i insert the external usb hard drive that i have all my games on, the new pc doesnt recognize it or something because eventhough the game ARE in is still wont let me play them and will only let ,me downloading them. Tried to just download them from the external to the internal and still doesnt work. So the issue is pretty much that despite having the games downloaded it doesnt let me play them beacuse it does not recongize them or something and thinks i have to download them

You would have Steam software to know where yours games are installed... like D:/ instead of C:/ by default

Steam > Parameters > Storage > Add a storage ...

And you would certainly have to get your saved game located in /documernts or %appdata% for your games can work

Steam doesn’t automatically recognize games on an external drive unless that drive is added as a Steam Library. Go to Steam → Settings → Storage, add the external drive as a library folder, then click Install on a game and select that drive, Steam will detect the existing files instead of re-downloading. If it still doesn’t detect them, use Verify integrity after starting the install.
