UK AGE VERIFICATION ALTERNATIVE TO A CREDIT CARD
This is badly thought out, Frozen out of Cyberpunk after 26 hours play on a 20 year old Steam Account. I don't use filthy Credit Cards, how else can i verify my age? Steam are obliged to offer more than one option to verify your age. Grrrr

Sounds like something between you and CD Projekt RED. Steam doesn't block already purchased games.

It's perfectly thought out. No they aren't obligated. Yes you will get a card. There will be no other options, and the age of the account is irrelevant. Accounts get bought, sold, and hijacked. Don't like the law change your government. All the whining has got you guys exactly nowhere. You're just wasting your time with this nonsense. Choices have consequences you'll need to live with it.

Cyberpunk 2077 is drm-free. You do not need Steam to be running. Simply create a shortcut to the exe and run it from there.

Except it isn't supposed to lock out already purchased games? Unless this thread is some bot farm troll thread.

Once again already purchased games should not be affected? Just make sure your client is logged in to the account that purchased the games.

I agree. The law is just bad, should be removed and government that created be removed from power, all it's members deported to El Salvador where they'd spend rest of their lives repenting their sins.

Except according to the law, they aren't.

The government responsible for this was the Tories and have already been kicked out, unfortunately Labour are left with the flack of enacting it

Then every member of parliament that voted in favor of the law should be send to El Salvador and any member of parliament refusing to support removing it should e send to El Salvador until there is a government that removes the law and amends constitution so that such law can never again be enacted ever again

FAKE BS post since you can see the game page and buy it (though i did need to fill in the age bit, which should check your account to match and then allow) and that should be enough to bind the age.

No, they're not obliged. In fact if credits cards weren't an option, or the law was amended and credit cards were no longer valid, they you should expect all UK users to be blocked from accessing adult content. Just like German users have been with their similar law, and no CC option.

Based on their decisions, I don't think they're worried about that. Valve didn't make a random decisions, and they have better data than you do to estimate revenue impacts. And frankly Valve makes enough money they can easily afford to uphold their values without going hungry.
