Crashes at start
I press play and it says running for a few seconds and then nothing happens. I get no error messages. I have turned off my anti virus. I believe my specs are atleast at minimum as that is what (https://www.systemrequirementslab.com) states. Might be a CPU issue however. Is AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 4450U with Radeon Graphics good enough?

have also tried running as admin

have verified game files

I will now try redownloading with anti virus off

Very possible it is simply CPU. If someone can verify that for me, as I am not very knowledgeable about hardware, it will be appreciated

Well it depends, the cpu is fast enough for the game in terms of the processor speed, however going off specs its on board graphics are not, you need a fairly good dedicated gaming graphic card.

Those site do not always get it right, for instance here is your vega 8 graphics vs the gtx670.
https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-670-vs-AMD-RX-Vega-8-Ryzen-iGPU/2181vsm441833

Bear in mind the 670 is what they say is the minimum needed, not the recommended.

That all being said, the game should still run.

There are various fixes on the forums, though personally given the specs needed to play the game I would say there is no real point in trying any fixes as unless you have a better graphic card, its likely it would not run well.

You have to run Ubisoft Connect. The game has to authenticate to the servers to be able to run. Something is broken and it doesn't launch that client when you start the game via Steam.

I have run ubisoft connect at the same time. Still did nothing

Hello there!

Thanks for helping out, Ceejay & Munky! I'm sorry to hear you're still experiencing crashes on launch, Hobo Crap. Thanks for letting us know what troubleshooting steps you have already tried.

Your CPU looks like it meets the minimum requirements[support.ubisoft.com]. Can you specify which Radeon graphics card you have? As Ceejay mentions, if your GPU doesn't meet the minimum requirements you may also have trouble running the game.

Can you also try the additional steps on this PC troubleshooting article[support.ubisoft.com]? In particular, I recommend disabling background applications[support.ubisoft.com], as these could be conflicting with the game files.

If the issue persists after trying those steps, please don't hesitate to update us in this thread. Thanks!

Having trouble finding the exact name of the Radeon card. It says (8 CPUs) & 2.5 Ghz. Idk im not the best with the technical hardware.
Chipset
AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics
Dedicated Memory
10 GB
Total Memory
10 GB
Pixel Shader Version
5.1
Vertex Shader Version
5.1

I just tried disabling background apps. Didnt seem to function.

One aspect I am confused about is whether one needs to have Ubisoft Connect running in the background when launching on steam. Some were saying that one should launch through Ubisoft Connect, but that does not seem possible until one launches in on steam and does some sign up process when the game is running, however, all of this is unclear to me

After having played 26 hours without any issue, and now I'm getting the same error. Nothing happened between play sessions nor did I change anything at all. I've done everything you have, validated, launched with Connect running, without Connect running, from Connect, from the .exe itself, everything with admin privileges, background apps disabled, re-installed, restarted the PC, etc. There's literally nothing else I can do. Have you had any luck fixing it, Hobo?
It's not the specs because it has worked before, and I'm over the minimum requirements, but they are as follows:
R9 3900X, Vega 64, 16GB RAM, Windows 10.0.19042 Build 19042

Ok I eventually managed to fix it... What I had to do was completely uninstall Connect and re-install it. Its latest update messed something up with launching the game.
