Next port of call would be making sure your display drivers are up-to-date.
Next option would be loading Windows Event Viewer and see if there's more information about what is faulting and the error code.
If that doesn't offer more info, the last thing to do with be to go to Wargaming.net and use the "Login With Steam" button, and create a customer support ticket. They'll get you to run some diagnostic software (WGCheck) to help troubleshoot.

An alternative would be to look at the profile.xml file and copy across the working display mode from WoT over the top of the faulty display mode in WoWS, under the assumption that they use the same syntax.
