No English voices?!
Most of the series had english dubbed voices. Why did this one not include any? Do they seriously care so little about the series now, that they don't even want to bother paying for dual audio?

I believe it was stated somewhere that Firis and Sophie didn't sell enough to justify the extra cost for English dubbing so they dropped it.

That sucks though. Jrpgs have always been a niche genre. You don't see other companies cutting corners though. Not every jrpg can sell like Persona 5 or Xenoblade 2, lol. They need to set their expectations lower.

I pretty much blame Koei Tecmo for that.

Agreed. Thanks for answering btw.

in theory atelier should be popular like persona serie, at least reach tale of serie popularity, seem than koei have not the same talent than namco bandei to sell their games :^(

Man I wish Gust was under Bandai instead so they would get more well known....

Too true. I don't think it's as good as those series, but I do love the Atelier series none the less, and it does deserve a lot more fans than it has. Yeah, Koei doesn't make good marketing choices. I think one of their big problems is they never show the really good hidden story in the games for some of the trailers. The games have amazing backstory if you find the right cutscenes with the characters. Linca for example. Her backstory is INSANE DUDES.

the mysterious series isn't really that good tbh. I wonder what the Japanese think. they definitely lost their touch compared to the previous titles.
lydie is the only good one of the 3 in my opinion.

Firis wasn't that bad but yeah, sophie and firis were definitively not as good as any title from dusk or arland trilogy.
Gin-chan Apr 4, 2018 @ 2:08am
Arland was probably the best one imo.

Possibly, just had trouble with the time limit and alchemy system compared to the dusk trilogy ( i know the 2 first also had a time limit by the way).

I personally am enjoying the mysterious trilogy a lot, but those are technically my first atelier games not counting stuff like mana khemia.
I hope they bring older titles to pc someday.

I started the Atelier series on the Ps3. I wouldn't know about the older ones on the ps2, lol.
