VRCFaceTracking

VRCFaceTracking

SteamVR Autostart
It would be great if VRCFaceTracking could set itself up for SteamVR as well,
so we can have it start automatically right away. 👍🏻😀

i got it to autostart but it doesnt show its running in steam and doesnt automatically close either.....
i guess theyre gonna still be working on this?
Please mark this application as a tool in Steam, rather than a game. It should assist in this.
Starting the App for the first time with Steam VR running, it will appear in Steam VR's Settings > Startup / Shutdown menu > CHOOSE STARTUP OVERLAY APPS.

It doesn't show up in SteamVR's setting. The option in VRCFacetracking settings is also greyed out.

Autostart is currently an unmaintained (removed in the beta) feature, as it was buggy and unreliable with the previous installer method. There may be plans to improve it in the future.

The game type has no influence on SteamVR's autostart features, it instead relies on hooking into OpenVR processes.

I do think that this should be marked as a tool still... there is no reason for this to be marked as a game.

Ignore prior post, it is marked as software, not a game. Valve won't let me delete the post either...

Has anyone ever been able to get autostart working? The autostart entry in the SteamVR setup is set to on, but it doesn't actually do anything. The setting in the App itself is also grayed out.

I remember before switching to the Steam Store version, autostart works normally. Is this a limitation of the store version, or is there a workaround?

On the GitHub page I see a merged PR that reenabled autostart settings https://github.com/benaclejames/VRCFaceTracking/pull/291 , are those not available in the Steam Store version?
I haven’t really followed the topic any further, because it works now. SteamVR always launches VRCFaceTracking properly for me these days. You just have to enable it in the SteamVR settings.
