Endless Connecting Screen
Several players seem to be having trouble getting past the 'Connecting' screen. Unfortunately the problem is not with ShellShock Live itself, but with the Multiplayer framework it's built on (Yahoo Games Network, formerly Player.IO). I'm in contact with the developers at YGN and they are aware of the issue but don't yet have a fix. With that said, I'm determined to get to the bottom of the issue and help them get it fixed.

I'd like to request some information from those of you experiencing the problem. Please email me at [sslsteam <at> shellshocklive.com] or reply here with the following info:

1. Operating System
2. Internet Service Provider
3. Are you behind a router, have a firewall running, etc.?
4. Where are you located? NA, EU, etc.
5. I've created a connection test program. ( www.shellshocklive.com/YGNConnectingTest.zip ) Please download, unzip, and run 'YGNConnectingTest.exe". What are the results of the 3 tests?
6. Are you able to connect to the old Flash-based version of ShellShock Live? (www.shellshocklive2.com)
7. Any additional info that may be relevant?

Thanks for your understanding and help and hopefully we'll figure this out soon. I want to get this fixed just as much as you do.

- Kyle

*UPDATE* 3/24/16: Unfortunately no fix yet and still out of my control. I'll keep this thread updated with the latest info.

*UPDATE* 4/8/16: Still in contact with YGN devs. On 3/25/16, they said that they're busy "for the next few weeks" but after that they can work on fixing the issue. So theoretically they can start working on it next week, but you know how these things go. Probably will take longer. Wish I could do more but that's all I've got for now.

*UPDATE* 4/14/16: So it looks like the YGN service has been sold to another company who will maintain and improve it. I've been in contact with the new devs and they've promised a fix. Don't have a timeline though... hopefully soon.

*UPDATE* 4/24/16: Progress! The YGN developers let me know that they've made a change within the last few days that may help. I'm supposed to check with you guys and report back. Can any of you connect now?

*UPDATE* 4/26/16: So it seems that the issue wasn't fixed judging by your replies. To see what's going wrong they need more details about how your computer is communicating with the YGN servers. It would be very helpful if any of you could follow the following steps to capture network activity while trying to connect:
1) Make sure you've downloaded the Connection Test Program from Step 5 above.
2) Download and install Wireshark (https://www.wireshark.org/)
3) Open Wireshark and start capturing activity by double clicking your network connection under "Capture"
4) Run the Connection Test Program from Step 5
5) Once the Connection Test Program is complete, press the red "Stop" button on the top left of Wireshark
6) Save the capture (File > Save As)
7) Email the capture file (.pcapng) to [sslsteam <at> shellshocklive.com] and I'll forward it to the YGN devs. Please also include which Tests pass and which fail in the email.
Hopefully this will provide enough info to get this fixed once and for all!

*UPDATE* 5/3/16: Still working on it. A fix probably won't be ready tomorrow. However, I've created another Connection Test to test a possible fix.
Please download, unzip, and run 'YGNConnectingTest.exe". What are the results of the 3 tests?

*UPDATE* 5/7/16: Fixed! SSL V0.9.6.1 now attempts a second connection method if the first fails. This should solve the issue for those of you who are stuck on the 'Connecting' screen. Thanks so much for your patience! I really do appreciate all of you sticking it out, and I apologize it's taken so long. If any of you still can't connect, please let me know here.

Here is my info:
1. I use Windows 7
2. Telekom
3. I have a firewall running , and I have a router.
4. EU
5. I've failed all the tests
6. Yes I can.
7. I just tried to delete the game manually and reinstall to see if the game will connect this time and surprisingly it worked but not for too long. After I connected, the game lost connection to the server. After that I closed the game and reopened it to see if it will work second try but I got stuck in the Endless Connection Screen. And that's it. I checked the ports, all good. Checked if the Firewall was blocking the game, all good. And yeah, that's it.

"Here is a POSSIBLE way to fix the connectivity issue
First uninstall the game from steam then delete all the game files in the steam file
Next download the game again then go to properties of the game (right click the game)
Then go to verify game cache once you do that if any problems pop up then notify dev or if it says no problems then try playing the game Thanks! Hope it helped"

I have already tried all these tips without any succes :(

My system does work with the game, but I feel it would be relavent to provide my input.

1.Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, up to date.
2.Comcast.
3.I use a router, windows firewall, no router firewall enabled.
4.North America, North Eastern California.
6.Never had a problem with the flash game, although I've never actually played it.
7. I did occasionally run into connection issues some time ago when I was temporarily using an AT&T DSL line. It wasn't consistent, but the issue was present. I just assumed it was low bandwidth, and it was timing out.
