So playing it on Steam Deck would be about the same as the Switch version? Or does it have other improvements?
Idk what kind of system Dini_rj has, or anything about their software on their system outside of Steam (which can often have impact on performance in varying degrees), but I've always ever run the game at 60FPS without any issues to speak of, at 1080p. Given the age of the game, 1440p and 4K resolution shouldn't be a challenge at all to run at 60FPS either.
Have you activated the Steam frame counter? My computer runs this game smoothly and when I wanted to play it at 60fps it always slowdown or desync.
The PC version has some quirky behavior at 60fps.
Sega never updated the game to add the PS4 improvements. (fewer bugs, and the reduced blur sharpens the visuals slightly)
This is an absurdly delayed response; my apologies. But. Yes, I've done with the Steam Counter in-game and with external monitoring (MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner Statistics). I've run this game, and VC4, on multiple PCs, 1080p, locked 60FPS, without ever encountering an issue; from my original Ryzen 5 2600 + GTX 1060 (3GB) + 8 GB RAM to my current Intel i7-9700F + RTX 4070 + 32GB RAM. All on Windows 10, from v1907 and v21H1 to the current v22H2. VC4 has only been done on my current rig + minor gaming, for testing purposes, on an i7-4790K + GTX 1080 and Ryzen 5 1600 + GTX 1060 (6GB); similar results with only very occasional frame dips to mid-50s.
If on some off-chance there were any issues in all my many, many hours of play they were so negligible or insignificant that I couldn't tell they were happening (outside of very minor frame drops on fairly low-end hardware).
I appreciate the thought, but I already bought the Steam version of this game over a year ago.
I have this game on PS3, Switch and on PC. Honestly its up to you if you want to get it another time. There isnt that much differences between Switch and PC besides the higher resolution and "sharper graphics". On PC the fps feels higher so im not 100% sure about the fps (but it feels like 60 fps to me for others it might feel different). I guess that depends on the players pc overall.
Yes you bought it already a while ago but i just found this thread so i want to share my (useless) thought :D
