I had this issue and the solution was very stupid, for some reason when you open a lobby in the game it switches your PC's defauly microphone input to a Hands-Free AG Audio version of one of your inputs. if you go into your sound settings and disable that input and switch it back to your pc default the sound starts to work again.

yknow after 3 years I've stopped playing but I'm glad there's a fix for it
