Steam Deck: Use Proton 8
I think Proton defaults to the current latest stable version if compatibility is unknown, but the game fails to work properly on Proton 9.

Selecting Proton 8 under Properties -> Compatibility allows the game to boot into a playable state.

Thank you, Proton 8.0.5 worked for me. I had the same issue on the latest version. Nice demo, I've added the game to my wishlist.

Current Proton Experimantal (experimental-10.0-20250630) works fine for me.

This is outdated, it now works with Proton 9 too. In fact, using Proton 8 broke the achievements for me.
