a newbies first impressions
after playing Borderlands 2, DOOM 2016, and various others, this one is a welcome change.

i had played the earlier version back in the day, but it just never clicked.
probably due to dated graphics, crappy NPC pathfinding

this game on the other hand
this game is FUN !

i seem to spend most of the game in a crouch
hugging shadowy walls, moving ever so slowly

something SHINY has caught my attention, Ahh !
any Guards, or other Trinkets ? Secret Area ?


my one real niggle is the Map
or what's supposed to pass off as a Map
horrid
useless
and so on.......

if you'll excuse me, i have SHINY things to find......

Indeed, the shiny veneer of things is the best thing about this game.:steamhappy:

Yeah nothing kills immersion like shiny items. Older games still shine in aesthetics, level design and mechanics which besides fidelity 2014 drops the ball of everything else. Pathfinding isn’t that much better either, least gold and metal age had an excuse for it.

Some games allow you turn off highlighted items. Don't remember if this one allows you to do so. Thought it did.
