[Bug?] Tried to get Mayan + Aztec combined tree.
Start with Xiu,
1. formed Maya with 2 reforms,
2. convert to Animist,
3. Conqured the whole Mesoamerica,
4. Switch to HIgh-america.
5. Convert to Nahuatle and adopted Aztec.
6. Cede province to Tribes Vassals, and lose them.
7. War convert back to Mayan.

I am Mayan now, but does not have any reforms. Sigh, any solutions? (Non-ironman mode, ok with cheats).

You should get the reforms if the game considers you as still unreformed. I am not sure, but I think tech group plays a part there; try not switching to High American until after you're donw with everything else. This is the only thing I see rn that could make you unreformed in the eyes of the game.

yes, you are right, thanks!

If I do not do "4. Switch to HIgh-america", but do "5. Convert to Nahuatle and adopted Aztec first". Then convert to Mayan is fine.

But this means, I have to to convert to Animist again after 5, then adopt High-America, this is painful....:steamfacepalm:

No? You can just wait until everything else is done to click the mission for High American?
no, in order for Step 6. Cede province to Tribes Vassals, and lose them.

to work.

I need America frontier to suck the given territory back, and this requires to have all the Mexico + central America territory to work...sigh....

You can do that in another order though

1. form Maya
2. force convert yourself to Animist (meaning by enforcing an unfavorable peace deal on yourself vs an Animist country)
3. Take the province of Cholula and wait for the Cholula Temples event, which will convert you to Nahuatl
4. Make sure the Aztecs are gone
5. Adopt Aztec traditions
6. Force convert yourself back to Mayan. If you have too much provinces, you can bring yourself under 100% warscore by releasing a couple vassals (or mesoamerican tribs).
7. Reform your Mayan religion
8. Conquer Mesoamerica and complete both your mission trees.

Edit: also, the mission that turns you High American isn't required to get American Frontiers anyway. It's not even in the same branch.

ye, this can definitely work. But it takes much longer time to reform religion. This is why I need high American tech in order to instant reform, this way I can get everything done around 1480s.
Then I just cede all province to Animist vassal, and quietly wait for 20 years with American forntier to suck them back, before European colonies to show up.
The beauty of American frontier is not only enabling me to convrt back to Mayan, but also auto convert religiona dn culture all to my primary.

Maybe. I honestly think reforming the religion normally might be faster than getting all through frontiers. Instant reform from High American is sure nice though.
I guess you change the proposed plan to:
1-4: same
5: Adopt Aztec traditions, become High American
6: reduce yourself to sub 100% warscore through vassal feeding
7: war convert to Mayan. You should have all the reforms now.
8: Finish conquering Mesoamerica.

Since you don't need to conquer too much before 8, I think you can get all done as fast or faster than through frontiers. But if you really want to have all with your primary culture, you could go ahead with your plan.

Btw, just thinking of something: why do you want to convert to Animist to feed the natives? You can just vassalize a native and feed them the land, and it will be decolonized. You don't have to be Animist for this to work. Neither do they, in fact.

If I do what you said to step 7, I will lose religious reform tab, this does not mean I lose all the passed reform, but the whole reform tag is gone from UI.

This is like you convert to Mayan from another religion, you can not have any religious reform. It's just you are Mayan without any bonus.

I vaguely remember if I start as Azec reform then convert to Mayan I still have all the reforms, this works. But for my case I start as Mayan with 2 reforms, then Aztec then Mayan again. It might hit a bug or something.

And this is the true reason for me to conver to Animanist. This was not for feeding Animanist vassal.
