Finger cursor too big.
Hello, I recently bought a new computer with 4K resolution and somehow this makes the finger cursor HUGE. It covers the first word of almost every tooltip and it's quite annoying and a bit of a problem, as you might understand. I was wondering if it's possible to change the size of the cursor in EU4?

OS I use is Win 8.1

I have a similar problem. My new laptop's resolution (3200x1800) makes everything in-game extremely small. So I reduce the in-game resolution to something like 1600x900, but then the cursor becomes huge.

That sounds exactly like the problem I'm having.

Change the screen resolution to 1920x1080
Then reduce icon size (worked for me)

Restart needed before icon size changes

Is there a way to reduce icon size? Am I missing this option in the settings somewhere or something?

Games like these arent really designed to look perfect after 1920x1080p. Just change your rez to that and I'm sure you'l have a better time.

4k? Nice for you. On my 1366x768 cursor size is good.

First world problems...

Hi guys,

I am experiencing the same problem...
Any idea how to fix that? I already tried many other resolutions, it does not bring anything.
Thanks in advance!

I've found that EU4 uses the size reference from your operating system. I originally had my mouse pointer size set to 3 in Win10. Changed it to 2 and although it's still a bit too big, at least I now can read the first words of the tool tips.

So, in short: Change your OS's cursor size!

You never know. I've been through this situation of waiting for a reply that never comes. Also, I was having this exact issue and a quick google revealed several old threads that never got a definitive answer. This was the newest one, so I did the least harm i could in my necromancy lol

Yes, this is what worked for me in the end.

Upgraded to Windows 11 because Microsoft had a gun to my head.
Now my in-game mouse is twice the size.

Windows mouse is set to the lowest. Game and windows are set at 1080p.

Trying to google a solution brought me here.

Does a solution exist? No.
Will there ever be a solution? No.

Do I want to jump off a bridge because I need to use a computer for my work, and video games are my outlet? Yes. Yes, very much so.

This thread has a solution a few comments above yours. And I'm pretty sure that there are more solutions. Many people play on windows 11 and almost nobody had this problem. So you can fix it by changing/disabling whatever is causing the problem for you, If your cursor is big, because you scaled the cursor or the screen in your OS, then you can undo that or tell your OS to not apply this to eu4. Or you can use the full resolution of your display(and use the ingame scaling or one of the 4k mods). Or you can change the size of the image which the game uses for the cursor(might require that the dimensions of the file stay the same and are just transparent). Or you could use a software which overrides that the game overrides the windows cursor. Or you could use a different OS. Or you could run eu4 in a virtual machine which runs a different OS....
