Modathon Spotlight + New Modding Guide

Greetings to our most loyal and lovely mod enjoyers and creators. Community Manger Ryagi here to bring you some updates on Modding!

Firstly, we'd like to officially unveil our latest series over on YouTube. Our very own up to date EU4 Modding Guide.

Whether you're crafting custom nations, designing unique religions, or scripting dynamic missions, we hope this tutorial series gives you everything needed to bring your grand strategy visions to life.

Incase you are not, Modathon is The biggest Europa Universalis IV modding event where people of all experience levels come together and make mods over a short 2 week period. Think a Game Jam, but for EU4 mods. The best part of these events is that, Anyone can participate, whether you're a veteran modder or trying it out for the first time.

EU4 Chess

As the name suggests, EU4 Chess combines the classic game of chess with your normal game of Europa Universalis IV. This mod allows players to engage in actual chess matches, either against another player or the AI, enhanced by a unique chess engine developed specifically for the mod using purely in-game modding resources. This idea was created and directed by the mastermind Sol_InvictusXLII, who has initiated and brought this concept to life.

Post Finem Shattered Pages

Shattered Pages is an alt-alt-history submod for the highly acclaimed alt-history mod Post Finem. Its main goal is to present and bring to life unhistorical scenarios that are perhaps (definitely) too out of the ordinary for the main mod, while providing a rich and full experience. It leans on myths, legends, and tall tales for its inspiration and seeks to shape them into plausible, though not necessarily likely, stories. It dares itself to explore the unorthodox and perhaps even dabble in the supernatural.

Modders, strategists, and EU4 enthusiasts—the EU4 Modathon is back!

This community event is the perfect place to meet and collaborate with other EU4 modders.

▶ Have you never modded EU4 before and need some motivation or guidance to get started?
▶ Are you wanting to skillshare and make new connections?
▶ Are you a veteran in search of inspiration for your next project?

....then this event is for you!

How does it work?

The Modathon is essentially like a game jam, but for modding.

You'll form a team, pitch your idea, and get straight to work. Final submissions are then judged and awards are issued across several different categories, like best country flavour, best mechanics, and so on. Check out the mod spotlights for previous seasons: Season 3; Season 2.

This year we're donating a variety of prizes, including Starter Edition keys, T-shirts and posters.
