Although, the graphics would probably need to be remake to better hold up when you look stuff up close.
honestly, i am kind of hoping/expecting something new to come from Fullbright, as it is still very much alive. They released a Gone Home vinyl, and I was added to a newsletter for preordering it, which talked about some stuff regarding their games.
It requires the 32 bit version of the game, which you can download from the Steam depot
Step 1: Run Steam with console tab (Windows key+R, then type steam://open/console
Step 2: enter the following command download_depot 232430 232434 1256293846627509093
Step 3: Start the game (with nothing patched) and select New Game. Watch the intro and when you are in the game exit to desktop. You do this because the patched game will give you a black menu screen. If you played the game once, the black screen will start with the highlight on the Continue button, which you select by hitting the 'Enter key'. If you don't do it it will hang on the intro I believe.
Step 4: download "VRGIN.Template-1.1" https://github.com/Eusth/VRGIN.Template/releases
Step 5: Extract it to the main game folder (should be in steamapps/content). Then drag and drop game exe to IPA.exe. This will patch the game and create the "GoneHome (Patch & Launch)" shortcut. You have to add --vr to it, by right clicking on the file, Properties, find the target file and make sure it looks like GoneHome32.exe" --vr --launch.
Step 6: Run GoneHome (Patch & Launch), you will arrive at the black screen and should hear the menu music. Press the Enter key on your keyboard and you should start in front of the house, all in glorious VR (like it was meant to be).
Note that bringing up the main menu will bring back the darkness, so make sure you save your game before exiting, by hitting the Escape key, Enter, Right Arrow and Enter.
Enjoy!
