Help with desktop keyboard

I cant bring up the keyboard on desktop mode at all. It works in Steam, I am literally typing this with the Steam Deck keyboard, but it won't work on Desktop Mode. I have used the keyboard on Desktop mode before, I have pressed the Steam and X button multiple times, but it either just opens Steam or does nothing. I even restarted the Steam Deck but it still won't show up. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

There are two different layouts involved, the desktop layout and the chord button layout.

Settings -> Controller -> Desktop Layout

Clear the X button command and set it to Show Keyboard. This should allow you to open the keyboard in desktop mode by simply pressing X button without having to press Steam + X button.

The chord button layout is hidden. To access it, you can go to

Settings -> Game Recording -> Record Manually -> Controller Shortcut to Start/Stop Recording

Make sure X button is set to Show Keyboard. I have mine set as a release press. That should allow you to bring up the keyboard when you press Steam + X button.
