Game not opening/crashing on startup
EDIT: Problem has been solved with a workaround for now, maybe a patch will address it later as well. Huge thanks to Fardoche who - thanks to his thinking outside the box - figured out exactly where the problem is and thanks to 2000.jose.luis who came up with a convinient solution.

Original post:

Just saying.... I can't seem to be able to launch it. Press play, nothing happens.

Win 10 64-bit (19041.vb_release.191206-1406)
i5-4460
16 GB DDR3 RAM
GTX 1060 6GB (latest drivers)

Complete list of things that I've tried to save you some time if you're experiencing the same behavior:

1. Rebooting (several times)
2. Running as admin, both Steam and the .exe directly from the folder
3. Running in compatibility mode
4. Disabling all security sofware
5. Updating GPU and Windows drivers
6. Making sure the game is using dedicated GPU in Nvidia control panel
7. Uninstalling and redownloading from scratch
8. Moving to SSD
9. Veryfing game folder
10. Crying
11. Clearing %appdata%temp
12. Running DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth command in cmd
13. Running sfc /scannow command in cmd
14. Installing the latest Visual C++ 2015-2019
15. Manually putting ucrtbase.dll from system32 to game folder
16. Deleting videos from the game folder
17. Disabling my sound devices
18. Booting Windows into safe mode with networking and trying to launch it from there
19. More crying

Ok, i found the solution. You don't need to create a new User or change folder names. You can just move your Saves folder:
1) Go to your user folder (C:\Users\[Your user]\
2) Right click on the "Saved Games" folder and choose Properties
3) Select "Location" tab, and then click on the button "Move..."
4) Select a new folder with no estrange characters (C:\Saves for example). Create it if necessary.
5) Accept, confirm and launch the game.

I decided to test the most obvious, and this worked for me.

Can you please run the executable in its install folder and tell me if you get any error messages appear? Steam surpresses error messages sometimes.
Thanks.

I just saw that there is a new patch while playing the game. It's about 379MB in size.
Step ahead, already done that, no messages. At the moment I'm updating GPU drivers, I'll reboot just to make sure, I'll let you know.

Nothing so far. Updated GPU drivers to the latest (same with Windows updates), rebooted 2 times, ran Steam as an admin, ran Steam normally, attempted to launch the .exe from folder as an admin, attempted to launch normally, tried windows 7/8 compatibility mode.

And always the same. For a brief second cursor changes as if it's loading something, game goes green in steam and shows that it's running, then everything reverts to normal. Doesn't even try to launch a window, it's not run->open->brief black screen, then crash with an error message or something, it's just straight up run->nothing.

Yup, latest windows there. Reinstalling client I dunno... all other games work normally, maybe as a last resort ;) But I'll try it.

Thanks for the reply. If you'd like you can add me if there's anything diagnostical I can do for you, maybe dig up some log files in windows or whatnot, if you tell me what you need I'll happily provide. Up to you.

Does the game generate any Crashlog.txt or .dmp file in the game folder? If so, can you email it to [email protected] and I'll have it sent to the developers

Thanks

Nothing in the main gamefolder and the subfolders I'm afraid, neither a .txt file nor .dmp

Same problem on my end. Game crashes after the intro cinematic, during the loading screen. No logs or anything of the sort in the game folder.

Win 10 x64
8 GB RAM
Radeon 7870 2 GB
Phenom II x4 925

I didn't even get there my friend, I haven't been able to launch it at all yet. Here's to hoping it'll work eventually, sooner rather than later.

Might be a long shot, but whenever I typically get this sort of issue with a game not launching, it's because my antivirus is being over zealous.

Make sure it hasn't quarantined something in the game or Steam (likely the game in this case).

If there's anything in there, make an exception for it.

Yeah, tried that too, along with entirely disabling all security software altogether. Nada :/ Thanks though.

This is probably not going to help, but you can always try:

1 - Verify game files.
2 - Is there a remote chance a 3rd party app is conflicting with the game? Try to go into task manager (ctrl+shift+esc) and close any app not "vital".
3 - Do you happen to use multiple screens, a high refresh rate monitor, or something the likes?
4 - Unlikely but, chances on having an antivirus that's not the windows integrated one blocking the game?

Edit, cross out number 4, just read you tried it in your last post.

Thanks for reply, sadly I tried all and only got a standard single monitor setup here, 60hz.
Tried:
