Texture flickering
Hi,
now that v1.5 is out I wanted to finally play the remaster, but I encountered this super annoying graphical glitch/bug, where the textures of certain objects are constantly flickering with what appears to be a dark grid. This affects mostly moving and temporary objects such as doors, moving platforms, collectibles, barrels and Mike's boat in the intro scene but not the characters. It ALSO affects the graves in the cemetery. You can even kinda look through them.
See some screenshots here:

They don't really do it justice since they don't show the actual flickering but you can get a rough idea of the problem.
I tried out everything the options menu has on offer - no improvement.
I admit my system is getting rusty (Nvidia GTX 580, AMD FX-4130) but should be able to handle the game according to the recommended specs.

Since I could not find a thread for this on Steam or anywhere else:
Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? It IS pretty damn annoying...

They really are taking A LOT of time to fix this, it has been a long time and still no fix

So this IS a known problem? Curious I couldn't find anything on it... Thank you for letting me know.

Not sure if this would help, but im using vulkan and not a single flickering (still will be needing a fix if a d3d problem)

Yeah, unfortunately Vulkan doesn't work for me. Every time I change it in the menu it immediately switches back to D3D... :lunar2019deadpanpig:

Thats because you have to install it separatelly (for windows), if your card supports it, and then the game will let you select it. I had the same problem as you (game switching back to d3d) then i did some research and installed the files and since then (several updates ago) it goes smooth. I think you can search steam forums for "how to install vulkan" and follow the steps (i think i got the info that way)

Thanks but I looked into it and I guess I'm out of luck until I get a new GPU. :/

I found a workaround, every time the flickering begins i quick save and load, sometimes it has to be done twice but stop the fli8ckering. :p
